Children's Storehouse, Jubilee Church The Children's Storehouse has been set up to serve the community, run by Jubilee Church Solihull

If you would like to donate items to the storehouse we need good quality children’s clothing aged from 0 up to teenage-sizes 16/ XXL. Here is the list of items we accept :-
Vests
T-shirts
Trousers especially joggers
Sweatshirts
Socks
Bras/ sports bras
Coats
Baby clothing items including bibs, muslin squares, sleep bags, new born scratch mits/ hats
Footwear - trainers and school shoes
School Unifo

rm- unbadged items of white polo tshirts/ shirts, grey/ black trousers, skirts/ dresses, unbadged sweatshirts/ cardigans any colour
Bedding - duvet covers (single and double)
Towels- good quality towels
Nappies - all sizes and wipes and baby creams
Toiletries- shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deoderants and period products
Unopened toiletries/ gift items suitable for pamper gift bags
Plastic bags
We also collect small toys -including cars, dinosaurs, farm animals, puzzles, dolls, colouring books and pens and crafts, board games and books

Due to storage we are unable to accept larger items like cots and prams, car seats, baby baths, travel cots etc. If you have an item to donate and its not on our list above please do check as we may not be able to accept it- thank you! If you need help we only accept referrals made by frontline professionals. If you need our help please contact us for more information about who can refer you to the Children's Storehouse.

🎉 Toiletries 🎉

We are so grateful to our local schools for supporting our toiletry drive and helping us replenish our stocks!

The following schools held non-uniform days, where children came to school in their own clothes in exchange for bringing a toiletry item or making a £1 donation:

* Merstone School
* Haslucks Green Junior School
* Valley Primary School
* Ulverley School

Thank you all so much! 🥳

Together, you have donated hundreds of toiletry items and raised just over £400, which has enabled us to place a bulk order for shampoo and conditioner.

Your support has meant so much to us. We love it when schools get behind our campaigns, as it means children are helping other children in need. That is such a powerful thing!

Thank you again. Thanks to your generosity, we now have plenty of supplies for our hygiene packs in the months ahead. 🙌

You really hit it out of the park, and we are blown away by your generosity.🎉

On Friday, the children at Ulverley School took part in a non-uniform day in exchange for bringing in toiletries or making a £1 donation, and the response was overwhelming! 🙌

With a car boot full of toiletries and more than £100 raised in cash, we are incredibly grateful for your support. 🌟

Thank you to all the pupils, families and staff who helped make this such a fantastic success. Your kindness will make a real difference to local families facing financial challenges. 🫶

As we continue to pray for peace in Ukraine and show our support for our dear Ukrainian friends... some of whom are our friends and volunteers - we received this feedback this week... "It's a very big help coming here... I tell every Ukrainian family- you need to come here and take clothes for your child because some people don't know about it!"

Iryna is from Odessa, Ukraine, and has been living in the UK for over three years.

In Ukraine, she worked as a nurse before training as a GP and then she went on to work for a pharmaceutical company. She now lives in Shirley with her son.

Iryna loves cooking, hiking in the mountains with her son, and learning English!

She enjoys helping people and making a meaningful contribution to the community. We feel very honoured that Iryna has chosen to volunteer with us! 🎉 - She is a wonderful addition to our team! 👌

Thank you so much Valley Primary School – you are the first school to get in touch and donate end-of-year school uniforms and shoes, and we are very grateful!

These coats and shoes may have finished their journey with one child, but we can guarantee they will find another home where they will be loved and where they will make a difference in supporting families facing financial hardship.

Buying new uniforms, coats and shoes for multiple children is a massive expense. So… why not think about donating your no longer needed (good quality) school wear items to us? By donating, you can help local families while giving these items a second life.

🌟 Corporate Volunteer Teams ⭐

We love to offer opportunities for local businesses, teams or companies to volunteer in their local community.

Through hands on clothes sorting activities you will be helping us to process clothing donations so that they are ready for families to choose from in our referral sessions.

We can offer half day volunteer opportunities on Tuesdays or Thursday's from 1-4pm or towards the end of July we can offer whole day sessions. We can comfortably accommodate teams with a minimum of 4 people or a maximum of 14.

This is a reminder that our annual summer term school uniform collection is just around the corner! 😉

In the month of July - we will accept your no longer needed good quality items of school uniform (no logo items please) This year we would like to do a specific push on COATS and SCHOOL SHOES - because year on year the demand is increasing especially for these items.

So... in advance of a July declutter of your children's no longer needed uniform - PLEASE consider donating them to us! Please share this post to help us spread the word! 🙏

😂 Friday Fun! 😂

We love to have a bit of a laugh with our volunteers, and there’s nothing quite like trying to explain some English expressions that don’t make much sense when you stop and think about them! 🤪

This week, we found ourselves discussing phrases such as ‘dodgy’, ‘kill them with kindness’, ‘turn the other cheek’, and ‘brace yourself’!

We can’t even tell you how these expressions came up in conversation in the first place, but they certainly gave us all a good laugh.😂😂

Learning a new language isn’t just about vocabulary and grammar - it’s also about navigating all the weird and wonderful sayings that native speakers use without a second thought!
