VCFSE organisations working with children and young people in Solihull... Children's Services and the SSCP want to hear from you!

The forthcoming Families First programme in Solihull aims to move the focus away from emergency crisis intervention and towards providing meaningful and effective early support. This includes building stronger relationships with families and the communities in which they live.

Children's Services and the SSCP are keen to hear from all VCFSE organisations working with children and young people in order that both sectors better recognise and understand the work we do and find ways to work better together going forward.

Please do make every effort to book on to one of the meetings below so that together we can all have some influence on how this programme is run.

30.6.26 11.30-13.30 at the Council House
03.7.26 11.30-13.30 at the Loft.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our YO Solihull Stakeholder Group on 3rd June! 🙌

This month we heard from Katie Washbourne about the Solihull In Real Life campaign, exploring healthier relationships with technology and supporting children and young people in a digital world.
We also welcomed Anthony Duff from Solihull Councils Community Safety Team, who shared local developments around hate crime awareness, reporting and support.
Members also received updates on upcoming training opportunities and youth provision developments across the borough.

- Meeting notes were sent to members this afternoon. If you'd like any further information about the topics discussed, please get in touch at [email protected].

- Our next Stakeholder Group meeting will take place on Wednesday 1st July, 10am–11am.

It’s Youth Work Week 2025 🎉

Youth Work Week is annual celebration of the life-changing impact of youth work across the UK.

This year’s theme, Building Brighter Futures: Safe places, trusted support, and opportunities to thrive, highlights the essential role youth work plays in helping young people feel secure, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

Today we highlight what young people tell us they like and want from Safe Spaces across Solihull.

Another set of prompts for anyone working with young people :)

Please share 🙌

27/10/2025

Do you know young people that attend youth focussed settings? If so, we want to hear from them (their voices - though you can send the message!)

Todays prompts for Youth Work Week are about Safe Places:
• “What makes you feel safe when you walk into a space?”
• “What does a ‘good vibe’ look like in a place you want to hang out?”
• “If you could design the perfect youth space, what would it have?”
• “What makes you want to come back to a place again?”
• “What’s something that makes you feel calm or comfortable here?”

WhatsApp your answers/art/poems to: 07552948194
