Funding opportunities for Solihull’s VCFSE organisations

I’ve really enjoyed being here this afternoon representing YO Solihull at the Solihull VCFSE Funding Launch Event.

There are some valuable new funding opportunities available to voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations across Solihull, including grants of up to:

💡 £1,000 – Capacity & Development
🗣️ £5,000 – Community ESOL Conversation & Activity Sessions
💷 £10,000 – Support & Prevention projects
🌱 Plus funding and practical support through the Community Start Up & Support Programme

What I particularly love about these opportunities is the focus on helping organisations build their capacity, develop their people, strengthen their leadership and create greater impact within their communities.

If you’re a charity, community group, social enterprise or VCFSE organisation in Solihull and you’d like to understand what funding might be relevant to you and how it could support your organisation, please connect with me or send me a message.

I’d be very happy to continue the conversation and point you in the right direction.

Sometimes the right funding can be the catalyst that turns a great idea into real community impact.

✨ Let’s celebrate the people making a difference in Solihull! ✨

Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for children and young people in their community?

Perhaps a young person making an impact, an organisation supporting local children & young people, an unsung hero working quietly behind the scenes, or a youth project bringing fresh ideas to a social challenge.

The YO Solihull Awards Evening 2026 is an opportunity to shine a light on the individuals and organisations making a real difference for children & young people.

🏆 Community Champion Award
🏆 Youth Impact Award
🏆 Outstanding Organisation Award
🏆 Unsung Hero Award
🏆 Innovation in Action Award
🏆 Health & Wellbeing Award

If someone immediately comes to mind, why not nominate them? Your words could help tell their story and ensure their contribution gets the recognition it deserves.

You can nominate your own organisation too!!

📅 Nominations close: 31 October 2026
🥂 Awards Evening: 11 December 2026

Let’s celebrate the people who give so much to our communities.

This Saturday at Meriden Park for any Pokemon fans

05/08/2026

We’ve had an amazing day 🤩

A staggering 2500+ people joined us to celebrate National today at Meriden Park 🎉🎉

A HUGE thanks to:

🌟 Our Board (volunteers) and their organisations for supporting YO Solihull throughout the year and especially for today. Many of them were here at the crack of dawn and most of them here racking the last of the barriers too 💪💪

🌟 Our (voluntary) Chair Ali who has been the best play host today (though she has quite a history in playwork, so no real surprises there!) and the rest of our tiny YO team; Niki who has been working on this for months and Munira who, as our newest team member, has literally been thrown in at the deep end with our biggest event of the year!!

🌟 The team at Meriden Adventure Playground who, in addition to their own 350+ visitors today have provided countless drinks to many of the folk on the field as well as providing every extra chair, table, gazebo, peg, cone and all manner of other random and forgotten, lost or not brought piece of equipment!

🌟 And EVERY SINGLE ONE of the organisations who have brought whatever they have and can spare in terms of people and equipment to make this the fabulous day it was!
