We’ve had an amazing day 🤩

A staggering 2500+ people joined us to celebrate National today at Meriden Park 🎉🎉

A HUGE thanks to:

🌟 Our Board (volunteers) and their organisations for supporting YO Solihull throughout the year and especially for today. Many of them were here at the crack of dawn and most of them here racking the last of the barriers too 💪💪

🌟 Our (voluntary) Chair Ali who has been the best play host today (though she has quite a history in playwork, so no real surprises there!) and the rest of our tiny YO team; Niki who has been working on this for months and Munira who, as our newest team member, has literally been thrown in at the deep end with our biggest event of the year!!

🌟 The team at Meriden Adventure Playground who, in addition to their own 350+ visitors today have provided countless drinks to many of the folk on the field as well as providing every extra chair, table, gazebo, peg, cone and all manner of other random and forgotten, lost or not brought piece of equipment!

🌟 And EVERY SINGLE ONE of the organisations who have brought whatever they have and can spare in terms of people and equipment to make this the fabulous day it was!

YO Solihull is once again celebrating National Playday - Wednesday 5th August 12-4pm
(there is no access to the field before midday due to stall holder vehicles being onsite).

PLEASE WALK - there is no parking on-site or on the surrounding verges (this is part of our event agreement so please help us to continue running the event by respecting the parking rules). Blue badge parking is available.

Parking is available nearby. Please be mindful of local residents and use Chelmsley Town Centre Parking or North Solihull Sports Centre is only a short walk away.

Morning all,

It’s been a tough week with sickness and bereavements and so we are unable to host the stakeholder group this morning. However, we’re guessing everyone is very busy preparing for summer and of course we all have Playday coming up on Wed 5th August where nearly all of the voluntary sector will be coming and having an exhausting brilliant day. We will be in touch asap about briefings for that and do look out for other news in the bulletins, but in the meantime everyone, stay cool, stay safe and keep doing all you brilliantly do.

VCFSE organisations working with children and young people in Solihull... Children's Services and the SSCP want to hear from you!

The forthcoming Families First programme in Solihull aims to move the focus away from emergency crisis intervention and towards providing meaningful and effective early support. This includes building stronger relationships with families and the communities in which they live.

Children's Services and the SSCP are keen to hear from all VCFSE organisations working with children and young people in order that both sectors better recognise and understand the work we do and find ways to work better together going forward.

Please do make every effort to book on to one of the meetings below so that together we can all have some influence on how this programme is run.
