Another busy day for Swale Combined AC! 💙🤍

The day started at the Julie Rose Stadium (Ashford) in Ashford, where some of our athletes were putting the finishing touches to their hurdle preparations ahead of a busy few weeks of competition, including the next Kent Young Athletes League, South of England Championships and National Championships. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

From there it was straight over to Medway Park to support our athletes representing Kent at the Inter Counties Championships Cunliffe Cup.

Alfie W continued his excellent form in the high jump, clearing 1.79m to finish 4th on countback in a very competitive field. 👏

Harriet’s consistency shone through once again in the discus, producing another throw over 33 metres to secure a fantastic silver medal for Kent. 🥈

A brilliant day all round, with athletes training, competing and representing both club and county with pride.

🏆 Kent Schools Track & Field Championships 🏆

On Saturday, a number of Swale Combined AC athletes represented their schools and the Swale district at the Kent Schools Track & Field Championships at Norman Park Athletics Track in Bromley.

With some of the country’s best young athletes in action—including a UK number 1 ranked competitor or two—the standard of competition was exceptionally high. Despite this, our athletes rose to the challenge, producing a fantastic set of results, personal bests and medal-winning performances.

🥉 Harriet – Shot Put – 8.95m SB & Bronze
🥈 Harriet – Discus – 33.70m Silver
🥉 Edmile – Javelin – 14.32m PB & Bronze
🥉 Millie – 80m Hurdles – 12.65 Bronze
🥉 Megan – High Jump – 1.40m Bronze

There were also a host of personal best performances:

⭐ Izzy A – 300m – 47.10 PB
⭐ Millie – 100m – 13.89 PB

⭐ Edmile – Javelin - 14.32 PB
⭐ Lyla – 75m Hurdles – 15.17 PB
⭐ Orla – 1500m – 5:59.83 PB

Special mentions must go to Harriet and Alfie whose stellar performances in the discus and high jump respectively earned them both places on the Kent team for this coming weekend’s Inter Counties Championships. 👏

The Swale district performed exceptionally well throughout the championships and we are incredibly proud of every athlete who competed, represented their schools and gave their all against some of the strongest competition in the country.

Two Kent call-ups, multiple medals and a host of PBs made for a fantastic day for our athletes. 💙🤍

Thanks to Blackheath & Bromley Harriers HQ for hosting and all officials for doing a cracking job on what was a very long, but enjoyable day of athletics!

🔥 Kent Schools Track & Field Championships! 🔥

The standard was exceptionally high, with some of the UK’s best young athletes on display across the track and field 👏🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

From lightning-fast sprints to endurance battles, huge throws and spectacular jumps, there were outstanding performances wherever you looked.

We’re incredibly proud of all our athletes who represented their schools and competed at such a prestigious championships. 💪

Medals and PBs were in abundance yesterday and even the odd county call up for our athletes. We couldn’t be prouder!

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Sittingbourne Invicta for their generous donation from this year’s Community Chest Fund!

Last night, we had the pleasure of attending their annual presentation evening, where they supported a number of fantastic local causes making a difference throughout our community.

It was an honour and a privilege for Swale Combined AC to be selected. Donations like this help us continue providing athletics opportunities for children, young people and adults across Swale.

We’re also looking forward to supporting their annual Charity Walk on 28th June, which is always a fantastic day out for the whole family. There are still spaces available, so if you’re looking for a fun community event, be sure to get involved! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

We’re excited to be part of the Swale Community Day hosted by Kent Police on Sunday 7th June! 🎉

Come and find the Swale Combined AC stand at the Appleyard Sports Ground 👋

There’s loads happening throughout the day including live displays, activities, community groups, food, music and much more — a brilliant day for all ages ☀️

We’ll also have plenty going on at our stand including athletics demos, fun competitions and chances to win a prize or two 👀🏃‍♂️🏅

We’ll be showcasing what our club is all about, chatting athletics, and letting people know about the opportunities available right here in Swale 💪

Yesterday it was the YDL team’s turn as they took to Medway Park in Gillingham, and boy did they turn up the heat! 🔥
