Join us on our journey 🤍 Dean Farm Trust is a registered charity committed to raising awareness about sick, ill treated and abused animals that have been subjected to factory farming or sport. Dean Farm Trust is pleased to announce it has given a home for life to its first animals. In June 2013 the sanctuary saw the arrival of the first ponies and rescued hens. We promote cruelty free choices

We

believe in compassion, life & empowerment – all factors that contribute to a sustainable, healthy & cruelty free planet. By providing information on the use of animals in factory farming, intensive breeding & cruel sports we seek to enable cruelty free choices and wider awareness. What we buy and the way we live has a direct impact on human & animal welfare. With information and wide access to cruelty free products, we all have the ability to make informed choices; choices which will improve health, prevent cruelty and protect the environment.

Yesterday our Charity Patron, Mathew Pritchard came to help out at the Sanctuary, it was an absolutely incredible day!!
Mat is a huge voice for animals, and he spent time not only getting stuck into chores but also hanging out with some of our residents.
Kevin took a particular liking to him and was more than happy to ask for a few extra cuddles.❤️
Jodie from greenvegan1 also organised a special plaque following the recent passing of Mat's beloved companion, Lemmy, which now has pride of place on "Lemmys Hut"
Thank you, Mat, for everything you do for animals and for your continued support of our residents. You are a true inspiration, please come back soon❤️💚

It's hard to believe Kevin Finn was once the baby of our boys, shy and quiet he always stayed behind his friends❤️🐮
Somewhere along the way he became six and a half feet tall, around a tonne and a half in weight, and developed a firm belief that anything involving people is probably worth investigating.
If there's something going on, Kevin likes to know about it, usually from very close range🥰
These days, he's curious, nosy, and makes absolutely sure he doesn't miss out on anything interesting. Our gorgeous Kevin💚❤️🐮

Audrey would like to know if you've got that something special for Father's Day🐐❤️
Looking for a Father's Day gift that's a little different this year?
Why not sponsor one of our rescued residents and help provide their care at the Sanctuary.
Our sponsorship packs make a thoughtful gift for animal lovers and are available as either a printed pack sent by post or a virtual sponsorship pack delivered by email.
Audrey thinks she'd make an excellent Father's Day surprise, although she may be slightly biased.🥰🐐
With a selection of residents to choose from, there's sure to be someone who will find a place in your dad's heart.

After a day of exploring, it's time to make sure our girls are safely tucked up in Hen Haven for the night.🐔❤️
The bucket definitely helps.🥰

Every animal deserves a life of peace, dignity, and freedom. 🌿
On National Animal Rights Day, Panda Boy, Percy, Clive, and Uncle Watson remind us exactly what we are fighting for. They don't belong to us—they belong to themselves.
We are so incredibly grateful for your support which helps us provide a home for life where this beautiful friend group can simply live,, lounge in the grass, and live out their days in total safety. Individuals, choosing their friends in freedom and peace.
Today we remember the billions of animals who have suffered and lost their lives, while celebrating those who have been saved and the growing compassion for animals around the world.❤️

The Piggy Plod is gathering pace and there are now an incredible 185 people signed up to take part and raise funds for our residents.❤️🐷
To celebrate, here's a little inspiration from some of our own piggies enjoying a run across the field as they head off to a fresh paddock. Although we suspect Perky and Pinky would argue this is less of a plod and more of a sprint.😆🐷
A huge thank you to everyone who has already signed up, and to the fantastic team at Bristol Vegan Runners (Part of Vegan Runners UK) for organising such a wonderful fundraiser for the Sanctuary. Every person taking part is helping provide food, bedding, veterinary care and everything else needed to care for nearly 200 rescued residents.
The Piggy Plod can be completed in your own time, at your own pace, wherever you are. Whether you're walking a mile, running a marathon or simply enjoying a gentle stroll, every step helps make a difference.
If you'd like to join the Piggy Plod and help support our residents, you can sign up here: https://totalracetiming.co.uk/race/694
Thank you for helping keep little trotters moving and tails wagging.❤️🐷🐷

Not looking bad for nine years old, Juney.❤️🦆

Juney arrived at the Sanctuary in June 2018 when she was around a year old, and that's exactly how she got her name.
Before coming here, her life was expected to be a short one. Confined to a small area and bullied by other birds, she had stopped eating and was no longer looking after her feathers.

Instead, she's spent the last eight years enjoying the freedom and friendships she found at the Sanctuary.
These days she lives with her friends in Turkey Terrace, where she's usually busy exploring, keeping an eye on what's going on and making sure she's involved in anything remotely interesting.🥰
It's hard to believe she's now nine years old. So much has changed since she arrived, but Juney remains very much herself. Curious, confident and still enjoying life, always on her own terms.
We think she's looking rather wonderful for it.❤️

A huge thank you to the fantastic team from Viva! who spent the day with us yesterday.🥰
From cleaning our cow barns and moving piggies and their houses, to digging wallows, and picking up what felt like an endless amount of poo, they worked incredibly hard and got so much done in just one day. Not to mention some cuddles for the girls in hen haven🐔
As we celebrate National Volunteers' Week, it's also a reminder of just how much of what happens here is made possible by people who generously give their time to help our residents. Whether it's a one-off team day like yesterday or the dedicated volunteers who support us week after week, their contribution has a direct impact on the lives of our rescued residents🧡
Thank you to everyone from Viva! for spending the day with us, and thank you to all of our volunteers for the time, energy and support you give throughout the year.❤️💚
