Darnall Allotment Project

Darnall Allotment Project A community growing project in Darnall aimed at improving health/well-being, promoting community involvement and social inclusion in the area.

Situated at Ouse Road allotments, off Staniforth Road towards Attercliffe , Darnall Allotment Project holds regular food growing sessions on the site with an emphasis on social activity whilst improving health and well-being. What it can provide:
-Physical exercise and social contact.
-Help develop confidence and keep fit.
-Contributing to a meaningful and positive activity.
-Learning the basics

of growing food.
-We promote eating fresh produce on-site and encourage people to take plants and seeds to try growing at home. We have a site we are using and have just been given an extension to the plot and currently clearing it of small trees and debris to create a new space to grow and meet. Our food growing session is every Friday 10-1pm, and we encourage home growing too. During summer months we also offer Art on the Allotment and On Our Plot for anyone living with dementia and their careers, Tuesdays 1-3pm. Booking is essential for these sessions

We look forward to welcoming new volunteers and groups every week. If you would like to join us in a relaxed, calm environment or would simply like more information, please contact Sarah on 07415 025 919, message the page, use the google form or email: [email protected]

Please note: We are not qualified carers and therefore cannot accept sole responsibility for vulnerable groups or clients (volunteers with care needs must be accompanied by a carer)
