At Revive Counselling & Wellbeing CIC, our vision is to help children, young people and families live life to the full through accessible, compassionate counselling and wellbeing support. As we grow our school-based provision within a secondary school in Derby, we are seeking a Placement Student School Counsellor to join our supportive, relational and values-led team.

The Role
Placement Student School Counsellor
We are offering a placement opportunity for counsellors in training who are passionate about supporting children and young people.
Placement students will:
- Deliver one-to-one counselling within a supported secondary school environment in Derby.
- Work with children and young people presenting with a range of emotional, relational and wellbeing needs.
- Gain valuable experience working specifically with children and young people.
- Maintain appropriate clinical records and contribute to service monitoring requirements.
- Receive regular support, guidance and opportunities for reflective practice.
- Work within Revive's policies, safeguarding procedures, values and professional standards.
About You
You must be enrolled on a counselling course that:
- Includes specific training for working with children and young people; and
- Allows placement hours to be gained through CYP client work.
You will also:
- Work in line with the BACP Children and Young People Competence Framework, ACC and Revives ethical standards and your training provider's requirements.
- Engage in regular supervision and reflective practice.
- Demonstrate emotional maturity, self-awareness and a commitment to ethical practice.
- Be passionate about supporting young people within an educational setting.
- Be willing to work in alignment with Revive Counselling & Wellbeing CIC's Christian ethos, vision and values.

Christian Ethos and Genuine Occupational Requirement
Revive Counselling & Wellbeing CIC is a Christian organisation whose ethos and values underpin the delivery of our services. Due to the nature of this role and the requirement to work in alignment with and actively support this ethos, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian for this role, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
