🦁💛 "Where There's a Need, There's a Lion" 💛🦁

But what does that really mean?

It means that whenever a community faces a challenge, Lions are ready to step forward and help.

Whether it's supporting local charities, organising community events, helping families in need, raising funds for important causes, carrying out litter picks, supporting young people through our Leo Club, or simply being there when someone needs a helping hand, Lions are committed to making a difference.

Being a Lion isn't about recognition—it's about service. It's about seeing a need and asking, "How can we help?"

Every day, Lions around the world give their time, skills, and energy to improve the lives of others. Here in Saltash, we're proud to do exactly the same.

So when you hear the phrase "Where There's a Need, There's a Lion," remember that it's more than just a slogan. It's a promise.

A promise to serve.
A promise to care.
A promise to make a difference.

🦁 See a need in Saltash? Let us know. Together, we can achieve great things.

🦁🌟 We Are So Proud of Leo Kyla! 🌟🦁

Saltash Tamar Lions are incredibly proud of Leo Kyla and all that she continues to achieve.

Fresh from her fantastic success at the Royal Cornwall Show, Kyla was out again yesterday volunteering her time at the Cholwell Horse Show, helping to steward the event.

The organisers were full of praise for her, commenting on how remarkably well she conducted herself throughout the day. They were incredibly impressed by her attitude, maturity, enthusiasm, and willingness to help wherever needed.

Kyla is a wonderful example of what being a Leo is all about – serving others, getting involved in the community, and always giving 100%.

We are delighted to have her as part of our Lions family and can't wait to see what she achieves next. The future is certainly bright!

Well done, Kyla – you continue to do yourself, your family, and Saltash Tamar Lions proud. 💙💛🦁

🦁🎉 What a Fantastic Evening! 🎉🦁

Saltash Tamar Lions had a brilliant evening yesterday at the Launceston Bingo. There were plenty of laughs, great company, and even a few fantastic prizes won along the way!

A special thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome. Our Leo, Kyla, thoroughly enjoyed helping with the raffle and was delighted to be part of the evening. It was a great experience for her, and she loved getting involved.

Events like these are a wonderful way to bring communities together while supporting good causes, and we're grateful to have been a part of it.

Thank you for having us – we had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to the next bingo night! 🎟️✨

🦁🏆 Proud President Moment! 🏆🦁

Saltash Tamar Lions President, Lion John Higgins, is incredibly proud of our members and Leo who represented both themselves and our club so brilliantly at the Royal Cornwall Show.

A huge congratulations to Leo Kyla Orchard, who achieved 2nd place in the Best Welsh Section A class, qualifying for the NPS Championships – an outstanding achievement! 🌟

Well done also to Lion Tash, who secured a 5th place in the Best Traditional/Native Cob class. 🐴👏

And a special mention to Lion Conor, who gave it his all in the Best Coloured class. While the rosettes didn't come his way this time, we couldn't be prouder of how he represented himself and the club in the ring. Success isn't just about winning—it's about showing up, giving your best, and enjoying the experience.

We are incredibly proud of all three of you. Thank you for representing Saltash Tamar Lions with such enthusiasm, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Congratulations on your achievements, and we can't wait to see what our Lions and Leos accomplish next year!

Onwards and upwards for your next shows! 🦁💙💛

🦁💙 What Does a Lions Badge Mean to a Lion? 💙🦁

To many people, it's just a badge.

But to a Lion, it represents so much more.

It represents service before self, a commitment to helping others and making our communities stronger. It stands for friendship, teamwork, and the belief that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

A Lions badge is a reminder that wherever you go, you're part of something bigger—a worldwide family of volunteers dedicated to serving those in need.

For some, the badge represents the projects they've helped deliver. For others, it represents the friendships they've made, the lives they've touched, and the challenges they've overcome together.

Every Lion wears their badge with pride, knowing that it symbolises compassion, integrity, and a willingness to step forward when help is needed.

For us at Saltash Tamar Lions, our badge represents our promise to our community: to listen, to support, and to serve.

So next time you see a Lion wearing their badge, remember—it's not just a badge.

It's a symbol of service. 🦁

💛 What does the Lions badge mean to you? We'd love to hear from fellow Lions, Leos, and supporters in the comments.

🦁💛 5 Things You Might Not Know About Lions! 💛🦁

Most people know Lions help their local communities, but here are five things you might not know about the world's largest service organisation!

1️⃣ Lions are worldwide!
There are over 1.4 million Lions across more than 200 countries and geographical areas, all working to make a difference.

2️⃣ We support local AND global causes.
From helping people in Saltash to supporting disaster relief, childhood cancer initiatives, vision programmes, and hunger projects around the world, Lions make an impact at every level.

3️⃣ You don't have to be retired to be a Lion!
Our members come from all ages and backgrounds. We also have Leos, our youth programme, where young people develop leadership skills while helping their communities.

4️⃣ It's not all fundraising.
While fundraising is important, Lions also organise community projects, litter picks, awareness campaigns, social events, and hands-on volunteering opportunities.

5️⃣ Anyone can get involved.
You don't need special skills or experience—just a desire to help others and make a positive difference in your community.

We're proud to be part of the Lions family and to serve Saltash and the surrounding area. 💙
