🦁💙 Why Young Lions Matter 💙🦁

At Saltash Tamar Lions, we are incredibly proud to be a young Lions club and to have so many enthusiastic younger members and Leos as part of our Lions family.

Young Lions are so important because they bring fresh ideas, new perspectives, energy and enthusiasm to everything we do. They challenge us to think differently, embrace new ways of reaching our community, and help ensure that the future of Lions is strong.

But it's not just about the future—young people are making a difference right now.

Our young members and Leos have already been involved in litter picks, fundraising events, community activities, volunteering and supporting our club whenever they're needed. They don't just stand on the sidelines—they get stuck in and make things happen! 👏

Being a young Lions club also means creating an environment where people can learn, grow, make friends, develop leadership skills and discover just how rewarding giving back to your community can be.

We are incredibly proud of every young person who chooses to give their time to help others. You are the next generation of community leaders, volunteers and changemakers—and we're honoured to have you alongside us. 🦁💛

💜 WHAT DOES THE SU***DE & MENTAL HEALTH RIBBON MEAN? 💜

You may have seen the teal and purple ribbon being shared, but what does it actually represent?

🎗️ The ribbon is a symbol of awareness, hope, support and remembrance.

💙 Teal signifies recovery, depth, and support.

💜 Purple represents spiritual strength and healing.

Together, the colours remind us that mental health matters, su***de can affect anyone, and nobody should feel they have to face their struggles alone.

This month, we’re encouraging everyone to start a conversation, check in on someone, listen without judgement and let people know they are not alone.

Sometimes a simple “How are you really doing?” can mean more than we realise. 🫶

If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or seek professional support. You matter. You are important. And you are not alone. 💙💜

🦁🚒 A Small Thank You for an Incredible Effort 💛

Today, Lion Teresa and Lion Claire had the pleasure of visiting the local fire station to present a beautiful hamper as a small token of our appreciation.

We wanted to say a huge thank you for all the hard work, dedication, and bravery shown by the firefighters dealing with the ongoing wildfires. The long hours and difficult conditions they are working in to protect our communities, homes, wildlife, and countryside do not go unnoticed.

We know a hamper can never truly express how grateful we are, but we hope it shows just how much their efforts are appreciated.

Stuart is an amazing lion travelling around UK Europe and the word informing people of what Lions do. He also does a fantastic amount in his local community and has accepted the challenge of raising funds to go towards the baby lifeline bags which are life savers.
