✨🎉 We'll be bringing fun, energy, and smiles to Columbus School today! 🎉✨

Working with children with special educational needs is incredibly rewarding. Through engaging activities and positive experiences, we can help support the development of social, physical, and communication skills while encouraging confidence, independence, and self-esteem.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine in their own unique way, and we're excited to be part of that journey today.

💙 Learning through play
💙 Building confidence
💙 Developing friendships
💙 Creating positive memories

We can't wait for today's visit to see some familiar faces again! The relationships we have built with the children over time make every visit even more special. Seeing their smiles, celebrating their achievements, and watching their confidence grow is incredibly rewarding.

💙✨

This week, our Laughter Specialists had the pleasure of engaging with some lovely young children at Grove Cottage through a variety of play-based activities, all of which created lots of laughter, smiles, and fun! 😊

These interactions provided a safe and supportive environment where children felt encouraged to explore, communicate, and express themselves. The positive engagement between our Laughter Specialists and the children supported the development of key skills, including communication, social interaction, confidence, problem-solving, and emotional wellbeing.

Through child-led play, the children were able to build relationships, develop independence, and learn through fun and meaningful experiences.

Sharing these joyful photos highlights the important role Laughter Specialists play in promoting children's development and wellbeing, while showcasing the value of play in early childhood learning.

A huge thank you to Tesco Colchester and the local community for supporting The Laughter Specialists through the Tesco Stronger Starts campaign. 😘

Thanks to your generosity, a fantastic amount was raised to help support our visits to Colchester Hospital and Market Field School in Colchester.

For many families, a hospital admission can be frightening, overwhelming, and unfamiliar. When parents and children meet a Laughter Specialist, it often brings an immediate sense of relief. Our team helps create moments of normality, connection, and emotional comfort in an environment that can otherwise feel clinical and intimidating.

We also visit children within their school settings, working alongside pupils with SEN and complex needs. Through play, music, imagination, and laughter, we create opportunities for engagement, communication, and confidence-building. Regular visits allow us to develop meaningful relationships with the children, and it is a privilege to watch their personalities, skills, and confidence grow over time. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who voted for us and helped make this possible. Your support enables us to continue bringing joy, laughter, and connection to children and families when they need it most.

Did you spot the camel on the foray at Addenbrooke's earlier today? 🐪 It certainly caused quite a stir!

Although it seemed a little unsure about the smell of Annie's feet, it quickly became the centre of attention during our bedside visits.

As Laughter Specialists, we've spent lots of time preparing for these visits – testing new tricks, experimenting with props, and learning from the wonderful feedback we receive from children and their families. Seeing smiles, laughter and moments of connection makes it all worthwhile.

Today's camel was a huge hit and enjoyed plenty of attention from patients, families and staff alike.

The only thing missing is a name! We'd love your suggestions – what should we call our camel? Share your ideas in the comments below! 👇😊🐪
