Our Annual Summer outing today took 42 members, trustees, volunteers & guests to Liverpool. The weather was kind & as usual CELTIC TRAVEL provided an excellent service. Thank you to all who joined us - hope you all had a lovely day. Please share any photos you might have taken.

As part of Volunteers’ Week, we would like to recognise and celebrate the incredible Rhayader Luncheon Club Team.

Week after week, this amazing group of volunteers and cooks show unwavering dedication to our local community by providing not only a hot meal, but also friendship, companionship, and a welcoming place for people to come together.

Their commitment to helping others is truly outstanding, with every volunteer giving 100% to ensure members feel safe, valued, and included. For many people, the Luncheon Club is far more than just a meal — it is an important opportunity for social interaction, connection, and support.

The team works tirelessly behind the scenes every single week, always going the extra mile to create a warm, caring, and safe environment where everyone is greeted with kindness and a smile. Their compassion and dedication help reduce loneliness and bring comfort and friendship to so many within our community.

The positive difference they make cannot be overstated, and they are wonderful role models for others through their selflessness, care, and community spirit.

We are team of 34 volunteers including our Trustees, Cooks & weekly Team members.
The support of The Arches Rhayader & District Community Support for providing transport each week, Watsons Family Butchers, Crumptons & Coop Rhayader also needs to be recognised as we try to stay local with our provisions.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join us so if you are interested please message this page & someone will respond.

We as a Club send our sincere condolences to all of Johns family & friends.
Both John & his late wife Liz were stalwarts of Rhayader Luncheon Club - with John achieving 20+ years of loyal service as a volunteer & latterly as a dishwasher operator who only hung up his tea towel last Xmas.
He will be sorely missed by us all.
RIP John

The funeral of the late John Lloyd will be held at Cwmdauddwr Church 2pm Monday 23rd March.

We remember and honour John as one of our much-loved and appreciated volunteer drivers at The Arches.

For over 25 years, he gave his time generously to our Community Car service, helping hundreds of local residents get to their hospital appointments, when they needed it most.

Always kind, dependable and willing to help, he was a valued member of our team and a familiar reassuring presence for so many passengers over the years.

His dedication to supporting others truly embodied the spirit of community volunteering, and his contribution has made a lasting difference to countless people.

We will remember him with gratitude and affection, and he will be greatly missed by everyone.

John, thank you for your many years of kindness, service and generosity to our community.
