Not long to go now until this fantastic event! It’s going to be a brilliant afternoon packed with fun, laughter and Kenny Owens (Katy is a fan).

We’ll have Lucky Squares ready to sell towards the end of the week, with some fab prizes up for grabs — so keep your eyes peeled and your lucky fingers crossed! Show us some love, because every little bit really does help keep the wheels turning.

What better way to spend her birthday than doing what she loves the most… organising things and raising money! Haha!

This time it’s all in aid of the Christmas Ball, helping us keep those ticket prices as low as possible so more of the cinders can actually make it to the ball rather than disappear before they’ve even bought their frock!

So grab your friends (not literally, obviously), Bill from next door, and even that gobby Mavis, and get yourselves down to Cwmdauddwr Community Centre on Wednesday 16th September!

Come along, have a laugh, play some bingo and help Katy celebrate my birthday the only way I know how… by making everyone else do something I’ve organised!

Can you believe it’s been 6 weeks since the most epic Carnival ever… and somehow the secretary is STILL behind with her thank yous! 😜
There is one group who absolutely deserve a HUGE shout out…

Our carnival day traffic control volunteers!

Getting a procession of that size safely around the route is no easy task at the best of times, and then throw in a few people who apparently believe the rules are merely a suggestion… and you’ve got yourself a logistical nightmare!

So, a massive thank you to:

David Davies – an absolute godsend for Katy’s stress levels once Captain Carnival disappears and leaves her unattended!! 😆

Anthony Bennett – who was happily enjoying the procession until a certain Carnival Secretary decided that was far too much fun and put a stop to it!
Luckily, he was a good sport and happily stepped in to help with one of the worst traffic jobs of the day. We definitely owe you one, although now you’ve done it once!

Tim James, Julie Carrod, Andrew James, Nicola Angharad Thomas-Botwood, P the V, Cllr. Angela Davies - Rhayader and Tony Davies, Paul Carter, Ralph Powell and David Jones!

Getting a huge procession safely around the town takes a LOT of organisation, patience and probably a fair bit of deep breathing!

It was a logistical nightmare made so much easier by these fantastic people giving up their time to volunteer.

So from all of us at Rhayader Carnival… THANK YOU! You absolute legends!

Right then… we’re trying to tie up all the loose ends so our Treasurer can finally get banking!

If you won a prize in your Carnival Day class and haven’t claimed it yet, please get in touch by Friday.

After that… we’ll just assume you’ve very kindly donated it back to the committee! 🤣 (How generous of you!)

A huge thank you to everyone who handed their prize money straight back to the committee on Carnival Day – your support really does make a difference.
