Ridgegate Home

Ridgegate Home A charitable residential care home for the elderly, able to accommodate up to twenty-three residents in safe and comfortable surroundings.

Ridgegate Home was established as a registered charity in 1946. We are a not-for-profit residential care home for elderly individuals who are unable to, or have chosen not to, maintain a home of their own. The home is administered by the board of Trustees and our Registered Manager, who take a keen role in maintaining a professional care service for our elderly residents.

💚The biggest THANK YOU from all of us at Ridgegate Home!💚

Now that the celebrations are truly over, we wanted to take a moment to say the biggest, more detailed THANK YOU to residents, relatives, friends, neighbours and supporters come together to celebrate our charity was incredibly special.

Behind the scenes, there were SO many wonderful people who gave up their own time to make the day such a success...

🍽️ Lea & Ivy, our amazing chefs, thank you for producing such a beautiful afternoon tea. The food was absolutely delicious and received so many compliments!

🩵Sue, thank you for everything you did to help coordinate the event, and a huge thank you to your lovely daughter Lou for giving up her time to come and help on the day.

🤝Lucy & Em, our fantastic long-standing volunteers, thank you for helping us set up, supporting our residents throughout the afternoon and providing companionship to those whose families weren't able to attend.

💪 Fian, thank you for rolling your sleeves up wherever you were needed - helping in the kitchen, setting up, entertaining our guests and generally being an extra pair of hands all afternoon!

♾️Thank you also to members of our Ridgegate team - Angie, George and Kanika - who came along on the day to help us host, serve, chat with guests and make sure everything ran smoothly despite not being on shift.

🎈In the lead up to the event, we'd also like to thank Brendan, Steve, Marcia and Jackie P for all your hard work putting together decorations and helping transform Ridgegate ready for the celebrations.

🌸 And a very special thank you to Clare, who spent her own free time knitting beautiful flowers onto hair clips for our residents to wear. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and they looked absolutely lovely.

💷🩶Financial Contributions
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who very kindly made financial contributions towards the day.

A special thank you to Keith, a local resident (hero), to David (Maureen’s son) and his partner Alice, to Stoneman's Reigate, and to Bill, wonderful husband of one of our residents, for their generosity.

Your support truly helped us make this celebration as special as it was, and we are incredibly grateful.

🎟️Our Charity Raffle

Wow... what can we say?!

A HUGE thank you to every single individual and local business who donated prizes towards our birthday raffle. It was an incredible success with a total of £396 raised via the raffle (and £370 gifted to us as mentioned above) thats a grand total of ✨£766!!✨ We simply couldn't have done it without your generosity.

We'll be tagging everyone below, and we'd love to ask one VERY IMPORTANT favour...

80 years of Ridgegate Home 🎉8️⃣0️⃣🎂

What an incredible afternoon celebrating 80 years of Ridgegate Home – a charity that has proudly been caring for the people of Reigate and the surrounding community for eight decades! You'll see from these photos just how special the day truly was 🤍

We were honoured to welcome The Worshipful, the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, who joined us to celebrate this wonderful milestone and share in such a memorable occasion. Mayor of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead

It was also a real pleasure to welcome Isobel Sangster - Author , published author of *Wanderings of a Wild Child*. With her mum, Liz being a much-loved long-term resident at Ridgegate, and her dad also very much part of our Ridgegate family, it made the moment even more special. Thank you, Izzy, for introducing your book and treating us all to a reading - it was a lovely addition to the afternoon.

One of our lovely residents, Maureen, has a very special connection to Ridgegate, having worked here herself many years ago. Her three sons, all proud Harley-Davidson owners, very kindly brought along four of their stunning bikes for everyone to admire. Residents, relatives and visitors loved getting up close to them, and we think it's fair to say our Chef, Lea, thoroughly enjoyed her spin on one too! 🏍️ A huge thank you, gentlemen, for helping make the day even more memorable.

Our afternoon tea certainly didn't disappoint! A huge thank you to the three fantastic local bakers who kindly donated some of the delicious cakes. We're sure everyone who attended will agree they went down an absolute treat! 🍰

The celebrations continued with wonderful entertainment from Sally, who had everyone singing along, clapping, dancing and smiling throughout the afternoon. 🎶💃 Sally Cranham Music

Finally, a very special thank you to Christina May, wife of Ridgegate Trustee, Mike May, for capturing so many beautiful moments from the day. We're incredibly grateful for these wonderful photographs that we'll treasure for years to come. 📸💛

If you took any photos during the afternoon, we'd love to see them too! Please feel free to share them in the comments below so everyone can enjoy them.

Thank you again to everyone who joined us to celebrate this remarkable milestone. Here's to 80 wonderful years of Ridgegate - and many more to come. 💚

Celebrating 80 years of Ridgegate!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate 80 years of Ridgegate with us last weekend. It was so lovely to see so many residents, families, friends and members of our team and community all together - it really meant a lot and made the day a huge success.

Ridgegate has been part of the community for 80 years now, and as a charity that’s something we’re incredibly proud of. The day itself just felt like a real reflection of what Ridgegate is all about.

We’ve had some really lovely feedback since, and we’re so glad everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

We’ll be sharing more photos soon - and we’ve got a BIG thank you post to come, as there are lots of people to shout about!

If you have any photos you'd like to share with us, please feel free to post in the comments below!
