The Friends Of Ramsey The Friends Of Ramsey group has been setup to give something back to other local community groups and charities in the local area.

If your local group or charity are raising funds for, we may able to help, so contact us and we can see what we can do. The Friends Of Ramsey group has been setup as Jane Yardley and her group of friends received so much support from the local community in the past, to raise funds for a particular project. They now feel that it is time to return the favour and give something back to other local co

mmunity groups and charities. So, if there is something that a local group or charity are raising funds for, we will be more than willing to help where we can, just reach out and contact us.

We will be at Upwood Village Hall on Wednesday 18th Feb at the Pancake Morning.
The Pancake Morning is to raise much needed fund for the St Peter's Church, Upwood.

Why not pop along there will be a lot to enjoy for all ages, special attention be given to children and their families with various activities.

There will be other stalls there too.

Well, here we are, almost at the end of the year, goodness how time flies!

"The Friends of Ramsey" group were only formed in February and at the time of writing this, we have given 14 donations to local worthy causes. None of these would have been possible without so much help and support from so many kind and generous people. A big thank you to all of you who donated tombola prizes, lucky dips and also the bric-a-brac, which we sell via Home and Vintage in Bury, Ramsey. You all know who you are and we are very grateful to you.

We will be continuing our fund-raising this year so don’t forget that we are here to help if we can, please get in touch.

Our latest donation was for the new youth space at St. Thomas a Becket Church, which is open every Wednesday in term time after school for secondary children. On Remembrance Sunday the friends laid a wreath at the war Memorial in Memory and Gratitude to all the men and women who served our country that we might enjoy the freedoms that we have today.

Now for my personal thank you to "The Friends of Ramsey" Margaret Margetts, Gillian Knox, Bill Barcas, Cathy Cracknell, Mary and Bugsy Ison, and my dear husband Dave, for all their hard work and dedication to helping others.

The Friends of Ramsey were very pleased to be able to give a donation for a very worthwhile new project in Ramsey.
It is a Youth Space at St. Thomas a Becket Church which provides a safe, relaxed and informal place for young people aged 11 to 16 to unwind after a busy school day and light refreshments are also provided.

The church team are the Rev. Maggie Tate-Druiff, Jeanette Seegar, Jane Upward, Shan Oswald and Adam Southwell.

It’s a great idea and we wish them all the best.

Here we are making a donation to Becci Hallet at the Community Orchard in Upwood.👝

What they are doing is really great, any spare fruit that they grow is put into boxes outside for anyone to help themselves to. 🍎🍐
