Somer Valley Rotary Award Paul Harris Fellowship Award!

On the 27th Febuary, Somer Valley Rotary Club members, Alan Bowhay (President), Michal Cosh and Angela Jordan, visited member Maurice Chivers to award him a prestigious Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellowship. This fellowship was awarded in appreciation of his enormous fundraising contribution over many years in administering the club's "100 Club!"
The contributions have enabled local and overseas grants to be made for almost 30 years. Initially the brainchild of a former rotarian, Maurice took over the gauntlet of running the 100 club with great efficiency and quiet steadfastness.

What a night to remember!
Last Friday we hosted our sold-out Charity Quiz Night! at Prattens Sports and Social Club.
With 63 people attending, the atmosphere was full of laughter, friendly competition and wonderful fish and chips!
Together, we raised £1,000 for Dementia UK and the Alzheimer’s Society helping support people living with dementia and their families.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible:

- Dave Stock, our brilliant Quiz Master
- Tony Haynes of The Haynes for the delicious fish and chips
- Kirsty Bucknell for delivering supper with a smile
- Prattens Sports and Social Club for hosting and keeping the drinks flowing
- Davies & Way Estate Agents for sponsoring flyers and tickets
- Twisted - Creative Design with a Twist for design, web and social media support
And finally our amazing “Quizzles” team of Rotarians who pulled it all together!
