We had a great morning at the Red Brick Care Home talking to the residents, telling us about their time in the Army or being married to a soldier, or what it was like in the war
This will become a regular thing and so important to capture their stories and keep these memories alive

Please help us find Shannon

BEACON ALERT MISSING VETERAN

Important update from Northumbria Police

"As part of our investigation to locate missing North Tyneside woman Shannon, we are now able to confirm that we believe she has entered the water off the coast at South Shields.
Shannon, aged 56, was last seen in the Cheshire Grove area of the town late on Friday, October 9."

"We've carried out a wide range of enquiries to locate Shannon, from North Shields, and our enquiries will continue. Her family have been kept informed of developments in our investigation and continue to be supported by officers. The thoughts of everyone here at Northumbria Police are with them at this deeply difficult time."

We at Beacon echo the thoughts of Northumbria Police and share our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Shannon, which in the short time this alert has been active, we've learned there are many. Her community will feel this loss deeply.
