Yesterday and today's picks along the verge and inside Stargate Ponds car park ... two bin bags and a carrier bag's worth, plus some extras. Sadly, it's still a dumping ground for general litter, DIY and garden waste.

Liz K has been out today around Stargate Ponds. Its such a shame that this area needs so many repeat visits.

We normally do a bit of a moan about litter. We then give ourselves a very well deserved pat on the back after a litter pick. We don't usually talk about the in between. We go all over, not just the main routes where people can see the impact we make. Our resident superstar went out on a pick this morning and has chosen to share the beauty he found. You do get to see some beauty when out and about, it's not all doom and gloom 😀 Were also requesting a replacement bin for runhead bus stop as the existing one is frequently knocked over and it's often Derek who fixes the mess made.

We tend to pick up the same item types over and over again. The ones shown below are probably the ones we come across the most. It's upsetting that some people have so little regard for the environment that they'll dump materials on the ground that may never decompose. It also makes me feel really proud that our volunteers do so much to remove these items from our environment. Volunteer litter pickers are amazing, well done all ❤️💚

Busy morning for our resident superstar. Derek's sorted the bin at Runhead bus stop. What exactly was the point in tipping it over behind the bus stop? Thanks to Derek it's now back in place.

Other litter picked up around Haugh Lane. What was the point in chucking a tin of paint into the vegetation? The mind boggles 🙄 Another thank you to Derek for sorting that.

Derek was out on Monday and found 16 empty vodka bottles in Holburn Lane 😬

Tracy was away for the weekend but that didn’t stop her. A northern beach had a bit of a clean up.

The findings following last nights post exams party 😡
- broken glass bottles, on the willows and in Ferndene Park
- other bottles
- ‘normal’ litter
- a destroyed sign
- a still smouldering fire

A huge thanks to our awesome volunteers who were on standby this morning to clear the carnage we were sadly expecting. It’s disgusting we need to do this but we’re lucky to have such amazing people in the community to clear this mess.
