As you may be aware, the charity Happy Faces will be closing its doors in the new year. However, the youth club sessions will continue to be run by Prudhoe Youth Project (PYP), as they have been throughout 2024. The only difference is that all fundraising and administrative tasks will now be managed directly by PYP, making Happy Faces a full part of the PYP family.
I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and to reflect on the past seven years. We've created so many cherished memories along the way. We've laughed, cried, explored near and far, and found a shared love for Halloween, Christmas, and Harry Potter, among other things.
As my final post, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this journeyโour fabulous young people, the families and guardians who support them, our volunteers, and all our trustees, both past and present. I am also deeply grateful to the local businesses, and the grant and funding providers as well. Without your time and monetary contributions, Happy Faces would not have flourished.
Lastly, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Pete, who has tirelessly worked in the background for the full seven years. While I have been the known (and let's be fair, vocal) face, Pete has done so much, from muttering the words "if you need any help, just ask me" back in 2017, to being at the end of a phone and a laptop for HFP ever since.
This page will close around Easter time, and I will add the PYP link for anyone new to Happy Faces to find PYP contact information.
Enjoy this trip down memory lane, folks. I certainly enjoyed trawling through photos to find these memories.
