Members of the Preston Greenpeace group took part in Great Big Green Week by attending the public meeting of the Save the Royal Lime Trees action group in Walton‑le‑Dale.

It was great to connect with community advocates and with Maya Ellis, MP for Ribble Valley to talk about protecting our vital local green spaces

🌱 Volunteers needed to tackle Himalayan Balsam! 🌱

Our Balsam Bashing Week takes place next week from 8 to 13 June and we’d love your help to protect South Ribble’s rivers and wildlife. 💪

Himalayan Balsam spreads quickly – each plant can produce up to 2,000 seeds – but even a small effort makes a big difference!

👥 We’re still looking for volunteers, businesses and community groups who can spare a couple of hours. It’s simple: pull, snap, stack!

👉 Get involved: email [email protected]

Just came across this petition to save Walton-le-Dale’s historic royal lime trees and I had to share it.

The council is planning to cut them down as part of new flood defences, but there’s reason to believe it might not even be necessary. These beautiful, centuries-old trees are part of our local heritage, and once they’re gone, they’re gone forever.

Please take a moment to read the petition, sign it, and share it with anyone who cares

I've just shared the petition to save the historic lime trees in Walton-le-Dale. Chopping them down for the proposed flood defences isn't necessary and needs a rethink! Can you sign and share too?

Come along, get involved, and help shape the campaign for a fairer, cleaner energy system.

The UK could lead the renewable revolution. We are a country rich in wind and waves that can power our homes and cars with cheap, clean energy. But right now, we’re stuck in fossil fuel cost chaos. Every time instability abroad impacts oil and gas supply, energy prices surge, households pay higher...
