| The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind across Rhondda Cynon Taf from 00:00, tonight until 17:00, tomorrow

The storm is also expected to bring wet weather across the weekend, with a risk of surface flooding in some areas. This could lead to difficult driving conditions, so please take extra care if you're travelling during this time. Extra care should also be taken in wooded areas and parks due to the risk of branches and trees falling in high winds.

👷🍂 Our crews have been carrying out pre-storm checks across the county borough and always appreciate a helping hand from residents. If it's safe to do so, clearing leaves and debris from drains on your property can help prevent flooding and make a real difference in helping communities prepare for the incoming weather.

❌Please do not report emergencies via social media❌

‼️Report a flood at a Property, Business, Street or Land online: https://orlo.uk/CR92p

Porth Town Centre Footfall since January 2019

When looking at the figures, please remember that between March 2020 and March 2022, restrictions and public health guidance had a significant impact on town centre trading and footfall.

After years of businesses and residents working together, it is great to see Porth not only recover to pre-pandemic levels, but improve on them.

Since December 2022, we have been clear that we would not be a Chamber of Trade that simply oversaw managed decline. We have consistently raised issues, challenged decisions and lobbied decision-makers to ensure the views of local traders are heard.

This recovery has not happened by accident or simply been delivered by public bodies. It has been driven by traders investing in Porth, new businesses opening, businesses working together and continually pushing for action on the issues affecting the town.

Where public bodies have helped, we will and have recognised that. But many of those actions only happened because traders were prepared to speak up, challenge and keep pushing for change.

Had businesses simply accepted the status quo, we believe Porth's recovery would have taken much longer.

Porth's traders should be proud of the part they have played in turning the town around.
