🌟 Who Are We? The Committee🌟

We are a group of 9 local volunteers who are passionate about Ackworth and bringing our community together.
Between us, we have lived in the village for many years, with most of us being Ackworth born and bred. ❤️

Our group brings together a wide range of skills, experience and knowledge from backgrounds including education, local government, public services and local businesses.
What brings us all together is a shared passion for our village and a desire to create events and activities that everyone can enjoy. From quiz nights and family fun days to community events, we love creating opportunities for people of all ages to come together.

🎉 And there’s an important reason behind everything we do...
At present, every penny we raise through our fundraising events is going towards helping provide a new community building. Our aim is to create a space that will allow us to continue bringing events, activities and opportunities to the people of Ackworth for many years to come.

We are volunteers. We do this because we care about our village, its people and its future.
We’re passionate about Ackworth — and we’re excited about what we can achieve together. 💙

📢 Committee Meeting Update

Last night we had a productive committee meeting, bringing trustees together to discuss key matters.

The discussions included:
• Progress and next steps for the new community centre
• Our up coming Dinner Dance
• Christmas events
• Social media and marketing

Sometimes it might seem quiet, but rest assured we are working hard behind the scenes to build a new community centre.

The committee aims to meet once a month and will continue to provide updates on our social media.

Come along to our next litter picking event on the 19th September at Carr Bridge, and help keep Ackworth clean and tidy.
All equipment is provided, along with some lovely refreshments as a thank you for your hard work. 💚

We delighted to be chosen as a charity of choice!

Let’s show this abseil some support.

Less then 4 weeks to go, until my abseil.

I’m currently raising money for four fantastic local causes through my abseil from Wakefield Cathedral on 19th September.

So far I have a raised £1,370, but I’m hoping to raise more.

All 4 cause will get 25% each, so let’s build some more money up in the pot.
