Plympton St Maurice Civic Association

Plympton St Maurice Civic Association We help with the restoration, preservation and improvement of the land and buildings within the Conse Maurice. Here, in St. Maurice would be lost.

The Civic Association was formed in 1968, after conservation status was granted to Plympton St. It has been instrumental in the removal of overhead cables, and the replacement of street lights by wall mounted Georgian style lamps. It has undertaken projects ranging from the renovation of the old fire engine, to the provision of new curtains for the Guildhall. Each year the Association holds meetin

gs and lectures, and organizes a variety of social functions, open to the general public. Plymouth's growth has caused much pressure on available land in the area. Maurice, one must be thankful that the Conservation Area has preserved its historic identity. Without Pathfields and the bounding agricultural land that serve as a green belt, the essential character of Plympton St. It must be hoped that we shall be able to pass on to future generations the delights that we can share in the many aspects of the ancient borough town.

Set in 1970s sectarian Belfast in the midst of The Troubles, Terri (Richard Dormer) is a DJ who opens a record shop "on the most bombed half-mile in Europe". He is a music-lover, idealist, radical and rebel. He is inspired by the new underground punk scene and in turn galvanises the young musicians, branching out into record production and bringing life to the city...

Also starring Jodie Whittaker, Karl Johnson and Ruth McCabe who all give great support as Terri's long suffering wife, dad and mum.

Doors and bar open at 7.00pm and the screening starts at 7.30pm
