Are you keen to help others and support your community?

As flooding events are becoming more common, itโ€™s more important than ever that we know how to protect ourselves and those around us.

BRIC are looking for volunteers to be part of a network of Community Flood Responders (CFRs). As a CFR, youโ€™ll take small actions to help your community prepare for a flood event and play a key part in taking action if a flood does happen. Your role could include:

- Encouraging neighbours and local businesses to sign up for weather warnings
- Checking for blocked drains and reporting them, and flooding, to the Council
- Creating a community flood plan
- Directing people affected by flooding to the help they need
- Being a valued and essential link between your community and Plymouth City Council

Itโ€™s a highly rewarding and very flexible role that will help us all become more resilient to flooding.

Interested? Attend our FREE online training sessions on Monday 3rd and Wednesday 5th November, where youโ€™ll get equipped with the knowledge you need to become a CFR.

Follow the link for more information and to sign up.

BRIC is funded by the Local Flood Levy, administered by the South West Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (SWRFCC).
