πŸŒŠπŸ’™ Happy World Ocean Day! πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

The ocean covers more than 70% of our planet, produces around half of the oxygen we breathe, and supports an incredible diversity of life. Yet it faces growing pressures from overfishing, habitat loss, pollution, and climate change.

Sharks and rays play a vital role in keeping marine ecosystems healthy and balanced, but 1/3 of species are threatened with extinction. That's why, every day, the Shark Trust works with communities, fishers, scientists, policymakers, and supporters around the world to secure a future for these vulnerable species!

Today is a perfect opportunity to take action for our ocean. Whether you donate, become a member, fundraise, adopt a shark, contribute to citizen science, or use your voice, every action helps drive positive change.

Together, we can protect sharks, safeguard marine ecosystems, and create a healthier ocean for future generations and a healthy planet! 🌎

🦈 Head to sharktrust.org to dive in and be part of the solution this World Ocean Day!

Today is the 'International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing'

Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing undermines sustainable fisheries and can be very damaging to fish populations, including sharks, skates and rays.

That’s why we create Fisheries Advisories. They give fishers clear, practical guidance on the rules and regulations in place. Helping improve compliance and supporting those working to enforce the regulations. Because better understanding leads to better management.
