We had an absolute blast heading down to Ray of Light Wales Cancer Support in Abercynon today for their brilliant Hal-loo-wee event! 🚽🎃

​It's always such a privilege visiting this incredible local charity.

Today's morning was packed with family arts and crafts, the launch of their fantastic Ray of Light Stars young volunteers, and the much anticipated grand opening of their brand new loo! ​Talk about pulling out all the stops 🧻😂

​Massive well done to the team for another fab event. We're always so proud to support the phenomenal work you do for local families! 💛💚

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to remind everyone about the vital importance of screening 🌸

Did you know you can feel completely well even if you have breast cancer? That’s why attending your routine screening appointments when invited is so important, it can catch things early and gives the best chance of successful treatment and survival.

If your invitation drops through the letterbox, please don't ignore it. Screening saves lives!

Join us at our next Bridgend Lung Cancer Support Cafe:

📅 When: The 1st Wednesday of every month
⏰ Time: 10:30 am – 12 pm
📍 Where: The Courtyard Cafe and Bookshop

It's a relaxed, welcoming space to share experiences and meet others who truly understand.

There’s no need to book or stay for the whole session. Whether you want to pop in for a quick cuppa or settle in for a longer chat, just drop by whenever suits you. The kettle is always on! ☕

📢 We’re Hiring! Join the CRT Together team! 🌟

We are looking for two dedicated Link Workers to join our team, delivered by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.

In this incredibly rewarding role, you will provide vital 1-2-1 practical, financial, and emotional support to people and families affected by cancer in the local community helping them navigate the system when they need it most.

We currently have two vacancies available with a Fixed Term until June 2027:

𝗔 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽.

Recently, we supported a patient who experienced a significant drop in income following their diagnosis. The resulting food poverty meant they were struggling to afford the nutritious meals needed to manage the physical demands and side effects of their treatment.

Our team quickly stepped in to secure a Macmillan Grant to ease the immediate financial pressure. We also worked closely with our partners at the Trussell Trust to arrange food vouchers, ensuring the patient had access to proper nutrition while we helped put longer-term financial support in place.

Tackling immediate financial hardship means removing a massive barrier to wellbeing. It ensures patients have the strength they need to engage with and cope with their clinical care. No one should have to choose between putting food on the table and fighting cancer.
