π THANK YOU! Β£1,907 RAISED SO FAR π
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared our appeal and helped spread the word following the vandalism of one of the Pembrokeshire Coast beach wheelchairs in Saundersfoot.
Together, you have helped us raise Β£1,907 so far. We are amazed by the generosity shown by our community and everyone who has shared our appeal. This fantastic start gives us real momentum, and with continued support we can raise even more to help safeguard the scheme and keep Pembrokeshire's coastline accessible to all.
For many people, these beach wheelchairs are far more than pieces of equipment. Across 17 locations around the Pembrokeshire Coast, they provide freedom, dignity and independence, helping people access beaches and coastal experiences that many of us take for granted.
The scheme was used more than 900 times in 2025 alone. Families have enjoyed days on the beach together, people with mobility challenges have reconnected with nature, and some individuals have even been able to access the coastline during end-of-life care, creating precious memories in places they love most.
That is why the theft and vandalism of one of the wheelchairs on 26th May was so devastating. Two specialist tyres and an arm were stolen, causing around Β£600 worth of damage and temporarily taking a valuable piece of equipment out of service.
While the immediate repairs are important, this fundraiser is about much more than replacing what was stolen. Donations will help support repairs, servicing and maintenance across all 17 locations, equipment upgrades, insurance, secure storage and the ongoing work needed to keep this vital service running.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the appeal so far. If you can continue sharing the fundraiser, it will help us reach even more people and keep Pembrokeshire's coastline accessible to all. ππ
