Today we proudly celebrate the birthday of Scouting! 💜⚜️

On 1st August 1907, Lord Robert Baden-Powell began the very first experimental Scout camp on Brownsea Island, an event that sparked a worldwide movement that has inspired millions of young people ever since.

119 years later, Scouting continues to give young people the chance to discover new skills, make lifelong friendships, embrace adventure, and help make the world a better place.

From everyone at 2nd Patchway Scout Group, we'd like to wish all Scouts, volunteers, supporters, and members—past and present—a very happy Scout Scarf Day and thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

🧣 World Scout Scarf Day – 1st August ⚜️

On Saturday 1st August, we are asking all young people and volunteers from 2nd Patchway Scout Group to wear a Scout neckerchief throughout the day to celebrate World Scout Scarf Day.

This special day also marks 119 years of Scouting, celebrating the start of the first Scout camp in 1907.

Whether you are going shopping, visiting family, heading out for the day or staying at home, wear your necker with pride and show that you are part of the worldwide Scouting family! 💚

💙🤍 We may not have got the result we hoped for tonight, but what a journey it's been. Every Scout knows that courage isn't measured by always winning – it's about showing determination, teamwork and never giving up, even when things don't go your way.
Well played, England football team. Thank you for the memories, the excitement and for inspiring young people across the country to dream big and keep trying.
