We’ll look at:

✨ Simple ideas we can all use every day to help people feel that they belong

🌱 Who is it for?

This session is open to everyone — local residents, carers, community and voluntary groups, professionals, businesses and anyone interested in creating more supportive communities.

🌊 What a lovely session out on the water it was! 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️

We had a fantastic SUP session last Saturday with our lovely folks and our very knowledgeable instructors, focusing on water confidence, balance and getting comfortable on the board. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves, learning new skills and building confidence in the water.

Beautiful surroundings, a great group and plenty of smiles along the way! 💙🌊

A big thank you again to our instructor team for a fun, supportive and confidence-building session. 🙌

It's always nice to try something new as well as building confidence, enjoying the water and having fun together! 🏄‍♀️✨

Baby Week Launch Event - 14th November 2026

Torquay Town Hall - 10am - 2pm

Free Low-Cost Events for expectant parents, parents and carers, babies and toddlers and professionals in health, maternity and early years.

Baby Week is a national UK campaign week, first celebrated in Torbay in 2023, running 14–20 November that year, with the aim of promoting the best start in life for babies. It's organized by Torbay Family Hubs in partnership with Torbay Council, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, Public Health, Action for Children, and other partners across various sectors. Torbay joined after the region became part of the National Baby Week Partnership, which promotes the importance of early childhood and the first 1,001 days of a child's life.

Understand Support Systems!

What will we do on this course?

This is a free two 2-session each workshops designed to help you understand the different support available to you in the UK.

During the workshops, we will explain things in a simple and practical way, so you can learn where to go, who can help you, and what support you may be able to access.

We will look at:

🎓 Training and education – different opportunities to learn new skills, study or improve your qualifications.
💷 Bursaries and grants – financial support that may be available to help with education, training or other costs.
🤝 Free support organisations – organisations and services that can provide advice, guidance and practical support.
💰 Money-saving information – practical ways to reduce bills and find out about support that could help you manage your money and combat the rise in your cost of living.

What can you expect?

The sessions will be informal, welcoming and practical. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about services you may not know about, and find out where to get further help.

You don't need to know anything beforehand. The aim is simply to help you feel more confident about understanding and accessing the support systems available in the UK.

In short: we want you to leave knowing what support is available, where to find it, and how to take the next step!
