If all this sun makes you think about solar PV, why not consider this?

We are inviting local residents who are looking to install solar PV, energy storage batteries, EV chargers or solar-to-water energy switches to join a group purchase discount scheme. The more people who sign up to the scheme, the greater the discount on the price of their installation.

Transition Oundle will coordinate interest and quotations and installation will be undertaken by local trusted installer, GENR8 Energy LTD.

If 7-9 households sign up, the discount offered will be 9%, which increases to 11% for 10-13 participants and a 15% if 14 -20 sign up.

The offer is open to those who live within 10km of ; being the area from to and from to .

The initial expressions of interest form, which should be linked here and contains more information about time lines etc: https://bit.ly/group-solar-oundle must be submitted by 12th July, which kicks off the quote process. The deadline for making final decisions is 17th August. Installation will be undertaken shortly afterwards.

Important message for anyone coming to the IT Amnesty next Saturday!

If you are bringing in any Apple devices, please log them out on your Apple ID account before you hand them in.
To do this, on your new Apple device, go into Settings, and then up at the top it should have a 'box' with your (Apple) name and saying Apple ID, iCloud (or something similar) underneath. Scroll down and you should see the list of devices that are currently linked to your account. If you can still see your old iPad/phone/watch on that list, click into it and then click 'Remove from account'. It might ask you for your password to make the change. Here's a video which explains: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QcInltBaM8

To identify your 'old' iPad/iphone, and to avoid removing your current products, it will often show 'date last used' - or it will probably be an older version number, or you can look in the settings of your new iPad/phone - at the bottom there is a tab which says 'What's my device' or 'device details' or similar.

If that doesn't make sense, bring your 'new' Apple device (iPhone, iPad) on the day and we can help you with that.

The next Oundle IT Amnesty will be on Saturday 25th April, from 2pm - 4pm at The Hub in Fletton House, Glapthorn Road, PE8 4JA.

Bring your old mobile phones, laptops, tablets, cables, desk top computers, Wi-Fi routers, modems and gaming consoles, which will be taken to E-Waste Recycle’s premises, cleaned of any personal data and refurbished or recycled.

Data will be wiped from all items, offering peace of mind to those concerned about theft of personal details. Anyone wanting certified confirmation of this must complete a short form before handing items in, requested from [email protected]

Anyone needing assistance to get photos and useful files removed from computers and phones (or with other IT issues) can request help from the Oundle Repair Cafe team who will be available on the same day. To book an appointment at a specific time with one of them, please email [email protected]

Roll up! Roll up! The next Oundle Repair Cafe is on Saturday 31st January. Book in by emailing [email protected]

Please send details of items you want to bring along to [email protected].
The posters we have around the town are in re-usable plastic envelopes held up by supposedly re-usable cable ties - we are trying hard to avoid single use plastics. However, my first attempt today was a bit of a disaster because the brand new cable tie snapped! Please let us know if you see any more that have failed so that we can retrieve them and try again. We will collect the rest after the Café, for next time.
