Groundskeeper Appreciation Post 👏

After an incredibly hot summer, our grounds team must have felt like they were working in the Sahara while keeping our Springmill pitches in good shape!

They put their knowledge from groundskeeping courses to good use—and even stayed up late watching YouTube and TikTok tips from fellow groundskeepers—to help keep the grass alive.

Their aim is simple: keep the kids playing grass football.

Over the past few weeks, the pitches have been disc-seeded, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for kind weather to help the new grass germinate and grow.

Our new water tank, kindly provided by Angloco, will be connected soon, making it much easier to water the pitches next year. We hear one groundskeeper is already planning a Springmill water fight for 2027! 💦

A huge thank you to Matt and Colin for all your hard work and dedication! 👏
