63 HOURS. 2,100 KM. ONE INCREDIBLE TEAM EFFORT!

Personnel from 63 Squadron, joined by teammates from 34 Squadron and II Squadron, pushed their limits in an epic 63-hour endurance relay last month, raising vital funds for two fantastic causes! 🏆

Three teams of ten competitors battled through day and night, demonstrating incredible resilience, determination and teamwork, with more than 12 personnel from 63 Squadron working behind the scenes to keep the event running safely and smoothly.

🔥 The results speak for themselves:

🏃 2,100 kilometres covered collectively

💰 £2,960 raised for the RAF Benevolent Fund and Hillingdon Brain Tumour Network

🏆 II Squadron crowned the overall distance winners

🥇 AS1 Anastasiou recognised as the event’s top individual runner, covering the greatest distance

More than just a test of endurance, the challenge brought personnel together in the spirit of healthy competition, camaraderie and a shared commitment to supporting the military family and wider community.

👏 A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and a heartfelt thank you to those who organised, supported and donated.

63 hours of determination, teamwork and making every kilometre count!

The Trustees of Helping Homeless Veterans UK would like to publicly state the following about our Social Media Policies and Procedures.

Our Charity is solely set up to Help and Support Veterans who are Street Homeless, Sofa Surfing or Living in Temporary Accommodation. We also provide an advocacy service as well as providing prevention measures and welfare support to prevent any Veteran of HM Armed Forces from becoming Homeless.
We do not house Boat People, Illegal Immigrants or Refugees and comparing Homeless Veterans to these individuals has absolutely no bearing on our Voluntary Work and we simply delete comments and block individuals who use our platforms for this. There are plenty of groups out there where you can type to your hearts content but ours I'd not one of them.
We work very closely with The MOD and The Office for Veterans Affairs. If anyone has an issue with Boat People, Illegal Immigrants or Refugees then please take it up with The Home Office.
Our social media platforms are to help raise awareness of the Voluntary work we carry out as well as garnering support and letting the public know where your donations are spent.
Thankyou for everyone's continued support ❤️

🐾 SUNDAY THOUGHTS | THE COURAGE TO QUESTION

Well, we're starting our little Sunday pep talk unbelievably late today! 🫣

The proverbial has well and truly hit the fan at Hero Paws HQ, and what was supposed to be a relatively peaceful Sunday has turned into an avalanche of work!

We should have known. Whenever there's a lull, something is usually gathering momentum behind the scenes! 🤣

But amongst today's chaos, we wanted to share a little thought about courage.

We often associate bravery with uniforms, battlefields, extraordinary acts and those who face danger without hesitation.

But courage is not the absence of fear. It's what we choose to do in its presence.

Sometimes courage is standing up for what is right. Sometimes it's challenging what we've always been taught. Sometimes it's walking away, admitting something needs to change, or recognising that carrying on isn't always the right answer.

And perhaps, particularly when it comes to the animals we ask to serve alongside us, true courage isn't always expecting them to overcome their fears. Perhaps it's having the courage ourselves to recognise when we shouldn't be asking them to.

Because there's a difference between bravery freely chosen and bravery expected of those who have no choice.

And there's a difference between resilience and simply being given no alternative.

Not every battle needs to be fought. Not every fear needs to be conquered. And not every act of courage involves carrying on.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is question why we're asking in the first place.

So wherever this Sunday finds you, we hope you're keeping safe, keeping warm and finding a little peace amongst life's inevitable chaos.

And remember, you don't have to conquer the world today. Sometimes simply being is enough. ❤️🐾

From all of us at Hero Paws HQ, have a lovely Sunday.
