General information
Total Reuse is a community interest company operating throughout the North West that exists to find alternative uses for the things people no longer need or want, thereby diverting them from landfill. The team operate under the collective name of Artisan Range and look to use any technique to achieve its goal of prolonging an items life cycle by finding it a new home, or by breaking down the component parts and turning them into something new. Our projects include, The Tool Shed, Glassworks, Total Clearance and Green Team. The Tool Shed, based on the Australian Men in Sheds model is aimed at 50+ men although all are welcome and they repair, restore, refurbish and re-manufacture things such as Victorian pine furniture. They are on a mission to salvage materials from derelict buildings and demolition sites and re-manufacture them into new products thereby prolonging social history. Recent developments have included the team going out into the community and providing after school clubs and adult courses in upcycling. Glass Works produces new products from old glass using the techniques of fusing and sloping. Total Clearance is an ethical domestic and commercial clearance service where we remove all items and reuse, repair or deconstruct as required. In its first year it diverted over 1 million kgs from landfill winning a national Gold Standard Zero Waste Award. Total Reuse CIC was voted ‘Best New Social Enterprise’ at the SELNET Enterprise in Society Awards and the Tool Shed was chosen as ‘Best New Project’ at the Red Rose Resource Awards followed by National recognition at the Awards for Excellence in Recycling & Waste Management as the ‘Best Community Recycling Initiative’ Artisan Range is the collective name of a group of like-minded people dedicated to creating concepts and designs that balance innovation, functional requirements and esthetical appeal. The team looks to keep traditional skills alive by designing and manufacturing custom, made to measure and bespoke furniture items incorporating traditional, contemporary, and modern styles. Every techniques starting with ‘re’ or ending in ‘ing’ is applied to create our pieces and wherever possible they contain 100% reused materials. From 10’ tables for Leaf on Bold Street to custom made settles for Yoga Nation, for a log burner in the garden to a planter in the living room, from display units for the retail trade to oak platters for the cafe bar, Total Reuse should be your first call.
