Unfortunately some of our visitors in the motorhomes have been subjected to some verbal abuse by some of the local community, this afternoon.
These people love visiting our village, and we are very grateful to have them here, to enjoy our lovely village, and help boost our local economy. Both pubs and our shop and Post Office all benefit from the extra trade they bring to the area, as well as our local market towns and attractions.
The Village Hall and Recreation Ground are both registered charities with running costs that are difficult to maintain, especially in the current climate, with high energy prices and insurance costs rising annually. So these motorhome rallys bring much needed income to both organisations, and help keep our hire charges down for local residents, so everyone benefits from them being here.
It’s really sad that they have been treated this way. They are very respectful and try hard not to upset any of the local residents.
Please can we ask that ANY visitors to our village are treated respectfully, and that you treat people as you would expect to be treated yourselves? 🙏🙏🙏

Just to let residents know that we will be welcoming the Van Club motorhomes to the Recreation Ground and Village Hall this weekend.
They will be arriving over the course of tomorrow and Friday.
We hope that the weather is kind, and they can have an enjoyable few days in the village.

The weather looks good and the bunting is up.
Join us tomorrow for Orleton Summer Fete from 12. ⏰
Dog show at 12:30pm 🐕
The BBQ will be cooking up burgers and hotdogs.🌭
The cafe will be serving tea, coffee and cake.🍰
There’s a bar too 🍻 🍹 and ice cream 🍦
Come along to the village hall and vote for your favourite photo to go in the Orleton 2027 calendar 📆
Lots of free parking 🚙
Stalls, games, Maypole, stocks, bouncy castle, skittles and much more.
Children’s area just £3 to play as long as you like including the bouncy castle 😊👍🏻🎉

2.25pm: Morris Dance at the Church
2.30pm: Parade to The Boot
