Our Scouts at the All Wales Scout Camp. 2500 campers this weekend at the beautiful Royal Welsh Show Ground. All groups were asked to put themselves on the Map, Our little spot looks all lonely all alone at the very top.

Our cubs caught the bus to Llandudno (which broke down lol) and we did the Alice in Wonderland Trail, taking in the sites of Llanduno along the way.

Going over the Green Cross Code with the Beavers, after some practice in the saftey of the Hut we took them to a quiet road to give it a real go.

One of our Old Colwyn Young Leaders.

On the eve of the Senedd election, it feels like a good moment to recognise what happened up in Eryri a Môn recently.

At their youth-led hustings event over45 young people showed up, 76 questions were submitted in advance, and every one of the six main parties was there and willing to be part of the conversation.

The Explorers who organised it set the tone from the start, introducing the session and keeping things moving, giving each candidate space to talk about their party values before putting them through a quick-fire round of questions and then opening things up more informally with pizza and doughnuts!

What stood out for Ben Exton, Area Chair, wasn’t just the structure, but the confidence of the young people in the room. They were asking direct questions, challenging answers, staying engaged well beyond the “formal” bit of the evening. It’s exactly the kind of space we strive to create, where young people don’t just listen, they shape the conversation.

And that’s why tomorrow matters.

If you’re able to vote, don’t leave it to someone else. You’ve seen what happens when young people lean in and take it seriously and this is your chance to do the same.

Polling stations are open tomorrow, 7 May from 07.00 until 22.00.

Three fantastic Volunteers (and me) took eight amazing young people on a competition Hike this weekend on the West Pennine Moors. There were tears, there were laughs, there were songs and there were life long memories. If you want to be part of the adventure, no matter what your skills, abilities or experience are wed love to hear from you, without our volunteers - YOU - we just cant make these adventures possible.

Hiya All, we have some spaces available for Girls and Boys in our Beavers Scouts (6-8) and Cub Scouts (8-10.5). We run on Thursday evenings during term time from the Scout Hut on Beach Road, Old Colwyn. Please get in contact if you are interested. Much Love Akela.

Well thats a wrap for another year. Caving, Hiking, Camping, archery, fencing, duck hunting (little rubber ones), slip and slides, beach days and general all round adventuring. Couldn't do it without a great bunch of kids and more importantly a fantastic team of Volunteers. Merry Christmas one and all x
