Community Organising Notts Community Organisers started working in Sneinton in early 2012 listening to people from all parts of the community.

Community Organising is a form of leadership that develops the constituency to form organisations that have the ability to tap into resources (people and money) and to increase the power of the community so that it can effect change We supported people to take action, and to listen to others in turn. This builds a network based on trust and respect, that has the power and mandate to affect change

in the area and holds those to account (shifting the power balance)

This summer marked ten years of Community Organisers — ten years of people listening and taking action where they live to make life fairer. Across the country, communities have stepped up: running foodbanks, creating sharing schemes, starting climate projects, and defending their neighbours when systems fail them.
