Non-profit making organisation aiming to arrange an annual jazz event in Newport, Isle of Wight catering for all styles and tastes. We are aiming to attract national and local acts with the intention of self-funding the event, and putting any surplus proceeds back into the pot for future events and also donating a sum to the local Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

A special one-off gig brought to you by the IWJW team!

Sunday 15 November 2026
Apollo Theatre, Newport, Isle of Wight
2.30 - 4.45pm

Lorne Lofsky is literally a living legend, having toured and recorded with Oscar Peterson, Joey DeFrancesco and…wait for it…Chet Baker!

Lorne Lofsky - Guitar

Nigel Price - Guitar

Jeremy Brown - Double Bass

David Ingamells - Drums

Nigel Price is one of the most highly regarded and in demand guitarists on the UK jazz scene today.
He spent three years with UK funk legends - the James Taylor Quartet, was voted No.1 in the 2016 British Jazz Awards for “best guitarist” and is also a regular performer at Ronnie Scott’s, where he’s played around 600 times.

David Ingamells is one of the most versatile and inventive drummers in the UK and is always highly in demand. Completing the quartet is double bassist Jeremy Brown, who is definitely the first call for visiting international stars, and this means his CV is absolutely stunning.

Tickets £12 (£8 for Under 21's).

News just in !

We are really pleased to be able to step in and assist Nigel Price with the final date of his 2026 tour. On Sunday 15 November we will be hosting his quartet with Canadian guitar virtuoso Lorne Lofsky, on the Isle of Wight, after the proposed gig in Southend fell through.

This is obviously very short notice but hopefully our followers and jazz community can come together to support this gig. The venue is just being confirmed and then full details will be released on Monday 26th October with tickets available on ticketsource.

For now, please save the date (it will be an afternoon gig) and alert all jazz / music / guitar lovers.

Good news everyone!
This year our festival made a very slight profit of £27.50 😄 we will invest it wisely 😄

Also Mountbatten Isle of Wight Hospice benefitted to the tune of £1,973 from very kind donations made by our audiences at the festival. This is a great total, thank you very much.

In 2027 our dates will be 15-19 September.
We are starting to receive submissions from musicians looking to play in 2027 and we will start thinking soon about who to book.
