FREE NEWPORT PAGNELL HISTORY BOOK AT BROOKLANDS Newport Pagnell History Society will have a stall at the Centre on Vintage Day tomorrow, and they'll be giving away copies of the 'Memories of Newport Pagnell' book.
Limited stock, so get one while you can!
NPHS merchandise will also be available, so pop in and have a look.
We'll be open from 10:30am onwards for snacks, with dancing to a jazz band from 1pm.

BROOKLANDS BOOK CLUB The last meeting was a good one. The book was a Marmite choice, prompting some opposing views. It was, however, great fun and very interesting.
The next meeting will be at the Centre in the upstairs reception room at 10am on Friday, 5th June.

As usual, there'll be a friendly chat about the book, followed by coffee and cake. Everyone's welcome.

Today (her actual birthday), she's having a small gathering of family and neighbours with a buffet tea, and lunch at the Craft & Skewers - Newport Pagnell tomorrow. Happy birthday, Mary!

BROOKLANDS AWARD WINNER
Everyone at the Centre is delighted that our Chair and Fundraising Trustee, Sandy Payne, has been awarded a Newport Pagnell Town Council Award.
Each year, the Council presents awards to selected local people for their outstanding voluntary contributions to the town.
Sandy received her award from local mayor, Paul Day, at the recent Annual Town Meeting, in recognition of her work at The Brooklands Centre and for her enormous contribution to its work for the town's older residents.
Sandy is an outstanding ambassador for the Centre and has been a volunteer for over 15 years. She has boundless energy and is always on hand to roll up her sleeves and help out - week in, week out - ensuring that those who attend the Centre enjoy themselves and go home happy.
With her enthusiastic, fun personality, Sandy inspires and motivates others to get involved in her wacky and outlandish ideas to promote the Centre.
She works tirelessly for Brooklands and, over the years, she’s organised lots of events, raising thousands of pounds.
Commenting on her award, Sandy said: "I’m amazed, emotional, and feel very honoured. I couldn’t do the things I do without the Centre's wonderful volunteers. Without them, Brooklands wouldn't be able to provide its fantastic services for the town's older people".
