A traditional, family focused Pre-school in a beautiful village location. Offering an environment where children can play, learn, develop and have fun.

Community based pre school with an OFSTED ‘good’ rating and ‘outstanding’ for education aimed at children from 2 years old right up to school age. Based in Sherington Village Hall, a lovely facility that is transformed daily into a bright, colourful and welcoming setting, we pride ourselves on our individualistic approach to children and parents alike. Children can choose from a wide range of activities, helping them to progress in all areas of the ‘EYFS’ Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Today we close our doors after 53 years 💔 in the beautiful village of Sherington. We’ve loved the generations of children who we have been lucky enough to look after and prepare for their school years ahead. We’ve had (and still have) some wonderful staff who have poured their heart and soul into making this Pre School the nurturing and happy setting that it is.

Thank you to our staff, committee, parents, carers, neighbours, villagers, friends and all the small businesses for your help and support through the years. We will miss you all but hoping to perhaps reopen at a later point in time. Watch this space……

For now though….thank you and goodbye 💫✨

Over the last couple of weeks the children have had great fun with different equipment, stamps, play dough, foam and jelly baff, developing their sensory skills with touch and feel of different textures, whilst learning about different creatures, colours, numbers and shapes.

The children have also created new art boards within the setting and are ever so proud of their displayed work.

The children have also been busy making lovely flowers for Mother’s Day.

World Book Day 2025 📖 and this year we read the story “Aliens Love Underpants”. The children loved getting art and crafty to design their very own underpants! What a wonderful day we had. It’s also a perfect reminder around the importance of reading to your child. It improves their language skills, aids cognitive development, cultivates imagination and creativity and increases concentration and discipline

This week at pre-school the children have been enjoying being creative for Valentine’s Day 💗 creating some finger printing love bug cards and making heart decorations.

Alongside this the children have been using tweezers to pick up different objects in the glitter sand, this helps the children build on their fine motor skills, which will then help them hold pencils and pens to write/colour with.

Lastly the children have been using play dough with different tools to cut the amount to match the dots on the plates. This is helping the children develop their mathematical skills, recognition and counting…

Who doesn’t love cake 🧁! Pick up some tasty treats for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day. Our stall will be open in the foyer of the village hall on Friday 14th Feb between 12:30 and 1:00pm and again at 2:45pm. Don’t forget to bring cash if you can! 💝

As Chinese New Year approaches tomorrow and it being the year of the Snake, the children have been busy cutting, sticking and decorating lanterns and snakes 🐍. Tomorrow the children will enjoy tasting noodles, prawn crackers and get more creative with making sock snake puppets.
