WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PURCHASE A FEMALE CPR MANNEQUIN ‼️‼️

❤️🚑 CPR SHOULD SAVE LIVES — REGARDLESS OF GENDER! 🚑❤️

Did you know that women are less likely than men to receive bystander CPR following a cardiac arrest in public?

Research has highlighted a worrying gender gap when it comes to cardiac arrest survival, and we want to help change that!

❤️ Why are women at a disadvantage?

There are several reasons why women may be less likely to receive lifesaving CPR:

🔴 Fear of inappropriate touching – Some bystanders hesitate because they are worried about touching a woman’s chest or removing clothing.

🔴 Lack of confidence – Many people have only practised CPR on male or flat-chested mannequins and may feel unsure about performing CPR on a woman.

🔴 Fear of causing harm – Concerns about breast tissue, injuries or inappropriate contact can delay lifesaving action.

🔴 Lack of awareness – Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, and every second without CPR matters.

đź’— WE WANT TO HELP CHANGE THIS! đź’—

At Swadlincote Community First Responders, we are hoping to purchase a female CPR training manikin to use at our community awareness events and CPR demonstrations.

Having a female manikin would allow us to:

âś… Demonstrate how to perform effective CPR on women.

âś… Break down embarrassment, misconceptions and barriers.

âś… Build confidence in members of the public.

âś… Raise awareness of the inequalities women face when experiencing a cardiac arrest.

âś… Encourage more people to step forward and potentially save a life.

đźš‘ Our message is simple: EVERYONE deserves the same chance of survival.

We would love the support of our local community and businesses to help us purchase this important training equipment.

Whether through a donation, sponsorship or simply sharing this post, you could help us make a real difference to help us purchase and raise greater awareness.

£250 will buy us the piece of equipment ♥️♥️

⚠️ Our service is currently experiencing exceptionally high demand and colleagues are working tirelessly to care for patients across the region. Before calling 999, please consider whether one of the following services may be more appropriate:

đź’Š Your local pharmacy for advice, minor illnesses and many common conditions.

📱 NHS 111 online or by phone if you need urgent medical advice and are unsure where to go.

👨‍⚕️ Your GP practice for routine or ongoing healthcare needs.

🏥 Urgent treatment centres and minor injury units for illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening.

This helps keep our emergency ambulances available for people who are reported to be in a life-threatening condition. For example, when someone is unconscious, not breathing, experiencing a cardiac arrest or stroke.

❤️ A defib can only save a life if it’s ready ❤️

If you are a Defibrillator Guardian, ensure your defibrillator status is updated on The Circuit. It takes minutes and could save a life.

Despite the best efforts of our staff and volunteers working incredibly hard across the East Midlands, our service is again very busy this Tuesday evening.

We are sorry to patients who may be waiting longer than we would like for an ambulance response - we are doing everything we can to get to you as fast as possible.

Please help us by only calling 999 in a life-threatening emergency.

We are on BBC News!

East Midlands Ambulance Service asked us to attend a CPR and Defibrillator Awareness session at a local school, in memory of Paul.

Paul suffered a cardiac arrest and survived due to early CPR by his wife, Lorraine. Paul, 8 months later suffered a heart attack and sadly died.

In his memory, Loraine is campaigning for as many people to learn CPR, A Life-Saving Skill!
