In just a few weeks time we will be taking to the stage at Sherwoods, Morriston to bring you a varied evening of music, embracing some iconic songs from the 70’s as well as some musical theatre ‘favourites’. There will be something for everyone and we really hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday 7th July at 7pm.

We hope the names ‘Aretha Franklin’ , Henry Mancini, Hans Zimmer and Carole King will entice you to come along to hear the choir, who will be joined for the concert by 3 fantastic guest artists.

Penny Dorward (vocalist) and Peter Charlton ( guitar ) will be sharing their outstanding musical skills performing an award winning composition written by Peter and his wife Sian. Peter will also be accompanying the choir and we are so looking forward to sharing that with you.

Georgia Furlong, a young performer from Aberdare, and one of South Wales’ up and coming talents, will be joining us to perform a selection of songs, as well as joining the choir in some fantastic repertoire.

Georgia, not only a talented vocalist and song-writer, but also an actress, appearing in BBC productions including the Bafta award winning ‘In My Skin’ and ‘It’s My Shout’. She is now in demand as a soloist and a regular performer at the Swansea Jazz Club and local arts events, with rave reviews from last years Swansea Jazz Festival. She has her own duo and fronts local big bands.

She recently made her ‘debut’ at Ronnie Scotts in London in her first ever ‘jazzjam’, such a fantastic accomplishment.

All proceeds from this concert will be donated to two local charities, Morgans Army and The Western Beacons Mountain Rescue. Both these organisations do amazing work and we feel proud to be associated with them on this occasion.

Just a little 'heads up' for all our supporters. We are continuing to prepare for our Summer concert and would love to see you all at Sherwoods on Tuesday July 7th at 7pm. It promises to be a great night, with some 'iconic' songs and some wonderful guest artists who will be joining us . The full 'line-up' will be announced shortly, so please keep an eye on our page for the full concert information and when the tickets will be on sale.
Proceeds from the concert will be going to two great charities ( announcement coming soon ) so please 'save the date.'

Our Easter break is almost over and we are looking forward to getting going again with our Summer season of singing, fun and friendship.

Very definitely more than just a choir.

Over a number of years we have supported so many fantastic local causes with our fundraising. The ladies give everything to help others. So many fantastic choirs in our area , all doing the same. The 'power of singing' - we can truly make a difference.

We are just about to start our repertoire for the Summer Season and we will continue to raise funds in July at our Summer concert - details coming soon.

Copper City Chorus were recently delighted to be able to present a cheque for £800 to Ann and Rachel from the Jacob Crane Foundation to support their work in the local community.
All of Copper City Chorus’ concerts support local charities, so every event like this is a celebration of those charities and the work that the choir does in supporting them.
