Tuesday’s Top Tip – Making sure your home is well lit can make everyday tasks easier if you have sight loss?

For many people, having more light can help them see things more clearly. However, avoid lights that cause glare or make it harder to see for some people with eye conditions, such as cataracts or retinitis pigmentosa.

Small changes can make a big difference! 💜

Making heritage more accessible for everyone!

Nathan, Paul and Helen we're kindly invited by Phil to tour Wallington Hall and the grounds, exploring how we can support improved accessibility for people with visual impairments.

Our partnership aims to help create a rich and welcoming visitor experience, enabling people with visual impairments to enjoy everything Wallington has to offer, from the history and heritage of the Hall to its surrounding grounds.

We look forward to working together to support the training of volunteers to become one-to-one sighted guides, helping visitors explore, engage with and experience Wallington with greater confidence and independence.

Tuesday’s Top Tip - When you’re talking to someone with hearing loss, make sure you speak slowly and clearly rather than raising your voice.

Shouting or talking loudly could actually distort how your words sound, and make it harder to understand what you’re saying.

A small change can make a big difference. 💙
