Looking for a new hobby, a friendly face, or just an excuse to swap the sofa for some fresh air? 🌿

Why not give bowls a try?

Monmouth Bowls Club are holding an open evening on Monday 20 April from 5pm and would love to welcome new players of all ages.

No experience needed. No special kit needed. Just bring a flat pair of shoes and a little curiosity.

It’s one of those hidden Monmouth gems: part sport, part social club, part gentle battle of brains in the sunshine. A little green arena where strangers become teammates and teammates become friends. 🎳✨

If you’ve driven past this week… you’ll have seen it.

The sun’s been out ☀️
The grass is back underfoot
And sport has quietly returned to the grounds.

We’re open.
People are playing.
And things are moving again.

It’s not perfect yet - but it’s real, it’s happening, and it’s ours.

Whether it’s football, tennis, bowls, cricket, netball, bowls, parkrun, rugby or just a walk around…
it’s good to see life back here.

If you’ve been thinking about coming down — do it.

This one really hurts.

After everything the community has been through with the floods… months of clean-up, repairs, insurance claims, and tireless volunteer work to bring our facilities back to life…

Someone has graffitied the basketball/netball court.

This space exists for our children. For our teenagers. For families. For the whole community. Every improvement has taken time, energy, and care to make this somewhere Monmouth can be proud of.

To see it treated like this is deeply disappointing.

We are currently reviewing CCTV footage and trying to establish exactly when it happened. If you were at the courts over the weekend or in recent days and saw anything, or can help narrow down the timeline, please do message us.

These facilities belong to all of us. The overwhelming majority of people respect them, value them, and want to protect them. We will put this right and continue the work to make this an even better place for our community.

💚 Quiet on Facebook. Busy Everywhere Else. 💚

If things have seemed a little quiet on here lately, it’s because the real work has been happening off-screen.

We’ve been knee-deep in insurance claims, builder quotes, electrical reports, safety checks, site meetings and a mountain of admin that comes with recovering properly.

Every conversation, every report, every form is about one thing:
Getting our facilities reopened fully, safely and as quickly as possible for all our clubs and the wider community.

This affects football, cricket, tennis, bowls, netball, rugby… everyone. And we’re determined to get it right.

It’s steady progress. It’s detailed work. And it’s absolutely ongoing.

Thank you for sticking with us.
We’re rebuilding carefully, responsibly and together 💚

🎄As Christmas Day arrives, we just want to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Monmouth sports community.🎄

This year has asked a lot of us. We’ve faced challenges, adapted to change, supported one another, and kept going—sometimes when it wasn’t easy. Through it all, what’s shone through is the spirit of this association: commitment, resilience, teamwork, and genuine care for our clubs, volunteers, players, and supporters.

Whether you’ve been on the pitch, court, track, sideline, committee, or simply cheering from afar, you’ve played a part in keeping local sport alive and thriving in Monmouth—and that really matters.

As we head into Christmas, we hope you’re able to slow down, enjoy time with the people who matter most, and feel proud of everything we’ve come through together.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas Eve, a joyful festive period, and a bright, positive New Year ahead.

💙 A Small Ask from a Big Community 💙

Hundreds of people use the sports ground every week.
So far, 108 have donated to help it recover from the flooding.

That support has already meant a lot - thank you hugely to everyone who’s given ❤️
But there’s still a long way to go to get the pitches, sports facilities and communal grounds back to where they need to be for everyone who enjoys them.

🌧️💪 Community Spirit in Action! 💙

After the recent devastating floods that left the Monmouth Sports Association pavilion completely submerged, our Local Water Treatment company, Siltbuster and sister company Selwood Pump Rental have stepped up in a big way.

Their emergency response teams mobilised, delivering much-needed dehumidifiers to help the MSA begin the long clean-up. This comes hot on the heels of Siltbuster’s generous donation for a brand-new industrial floor cleaner - affectionately known as “baby silt buster” which sadly was lost in the flood along with equipment from all our resident clubs: Tennis, Football, Cricket, Rugby, Bowls and Netball.

But Monmouth spirit doesn’t sink easily! 🏉🎾⚽🏏🎳
