🎸 Jem N I
What a way to kick things off! Huge thanks as always to Josh and Jeremy Hopkins — for opening the night with their beautiful set. These two (aka the Hopkins Brothers!) are incredible family friends and fabulous musicians who set the tone for the evening. 🎶
💥 The Kachinas
Next up were The Kachinas, a beautiful group of people. Tamzin Powell (with her powerhouse voice!), her husband Matt on guitar & vocals, Simon Richards on guitar, Jon Attree on bass and Brett Lewis on drums. Tamzin & Matt share some great memories going back to the ’90s Cherubims days with Rick Martinez, so whenever they perform it is always extra special to us. ❤️✨
🥁 The Duffodils
These legends came together at the eleventh hour and absolutely brought the house down! Featuring my old school friends❤️:
* Felix Lindsell-Hales - Vocals & Guitar
* Luke Hartley - Drums 🥁
* James Whittaker - Guitar & Vocals
* Jamie Barker - Bass Guitar
* Mr. Chris Duffil! Our Monmouth Comp music teacher from back in the day on keys!🎹.
* Felix’s super-talented uncle Justin Nicholls was also on percussion 🪘— this crazy crew were absolute vibes from start to finish, and we so appreciated their efforts of coming together at such short notice!🔥
🎤 The Intruders
To wrap up an unforgettable night, our great family friends and musicians Rick Ramsay, Dick Arkell, Shaggy, and Tim Buckmaster — took to the stage and absolutely rocked it. 🤘 Rick Martinez drummed with The Intruders going back 30 years ago, as well as being great friends with the band throughout. Their set closed the evening perfectly, and they also ran the sound and PA all night which we were so grateful for!
A massive thank you to everyone who came out to support the live music at the Robin Hood inn, Monmouth — you made it an incredible night for the Martinez Brothers Music Foundation and your generosity in donations is so appreciated. Our next job is to count the donations collected in the charity buckets, and we will be posting a special something soon in relation to this… keep your eyes peeled!🎶💫.
Last but certainly not least, we would like to wish our amazing Paul Martinez a very Happy Heavenly Birthday today. We just know you are up there jamming with your brother Rick. 🎸🎂✨
