Cultural heritage takes many forms.

Under The Grid: Celebrating MK Hip Hop Culture digs deep into Milton Keynes' hip hop roots, exploring the city's rich history and revealing the influence the scene continues to have on today's local artists.

As part of Heritage Open Days Milton Keynes, this exhibition is one of more than 300 events taking place across the city this September, celebrating the people, places and stories that make Milton Keynes unique.

Organised by Living Archive and funded by the Arts Council, Under The Grid gives the lowdown on Milton Keynes' hip hop culture, from the 1980s to the present day. Discover who created, shaped and continues to drive the scene forward.

Exploring the worlds of DJing, emceeing, street art and breakdancing, the exhibition showcases artworks and artefacts from across Milton Keynes, alongside screenings of the new film Under The Grid, co-produced by The Open University.

The project has been delivered in partnership with Milton Keynes City Council, The Open University's OpenLearn, and MÓTUS Dance.
