Update 15th July 2025:-

The kitchen refurbishment was completed in August 2024. New internal photographs of the hall have been taken and uploaded to the website to show the work we have done over the last three years replacing all the exterior doors, the flooring and the kitchen.

Our next major project is to alleviate the flooding in the car park during and after periods of heavy rainfall and nearly £8.5k of grant funding has been secured. At a very late stage in the proceedings we were told we needed to apply for planning permission. This has now been done and the application can be viewed on the Wiltshire Council planning portal here - https://development.wiltshire.gov.uk/pr/s/planning-application/a0iQ300000F6YmL/pl202505523
If anyone wishes to comment on the application (preferably favourably) you can do so by clicking on the 'comments' tab.

We were hoping to carry out this work during the school summer holidays, but that is now looking increasingly unlikely.

From the 1st of January 2025 charges for private users and those user-groups NOT represented on the committee were increased as follows:-

Main Hall - £15 per hour
Main Hall & Room 2 - £17.50 per hour
Whole Hall - £20 per hour
Meeting Room 1 - £10 per hour
Meeting Room 2 - £10 per hour
Rooms 1 & 2 together -£12.50 per hour

All other charges remain unchanged. See website for details.

The deposit for private parties remains unchanged at £25. This is charged in addition to any other fees and will be refunded providing the hall is left clean and tidy and no damage has occurred to the building or its contents.

Regular users are invoiced monthly in arrears and are expected to pay in full within 28 days of receiving the invoice. All other users are required to pay for their bookings in advance. Staged payments may be made by prior arrangement with the Bookings Administrator, but bookings will only be confirmed when full payment has been received.

Please note the free-of-charge "buffer zones" for setting up and clearing away for private parties have been removed. Hirers need to take this into account when making their bookings.

If a booking is cancelled more than 14 days before the event any payments made will be refunded in full. If less than 14 days notice is given the deposit will be retained. All other payments will be refunded. If less than 7 days notice is given any refund, whether full or partial, will be at the discretion of the committee.

Late bookings, i.e. less than 7 days notice, will only be accepted under exceptional circumstances and must be paid for in full at the time of booking. If the event is subsequently cancelled no refund will be given.

The minimum booking which will be accepted is one hour with increments of 15 minutes after the first hour.

The minimum booking for a private party is three hours. This includes your setting up and clearing away/cleaning time.

The minimum charge will be the equivalent hourly rate appropriate to the user.

All booking requests will be considered on their merits by the management committee.

Bookings can only be made online via our website www.bowerhillvillagehall.org.uk

Hire documents will be emailed to hirers for printing so make sure you have access to a printer before making your booking.

Documents can be printed at any Wiltshire Council library.

In case of difficulty please email the Bookings Administrator at [email protected]

Registered users will have access to their bookings and invoices via the online booking system, but amendments and cancellations can only be made by the Bookings Administrator.

There is a contact form and links to our page and Messenger on our website.

Bowerhill Village Hall continues to evolve and add new facilities in an effort to accommodate as many users as possible. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to improve things.
