🌡️ FAMILY WATER WORKSHOPS CANCELLED

Unfortunately, due to the very hot weather forecast, we’ve made the decision to cancel our Family Water Workshops on 12th and 13th August.

With the activities taking place outdoors, the safety and comfort of everyone attending has to come first.

We’re really sorry to anyone who was looking forward to joining us, and thank you for your understanding. We hope to be back with more family river activities soon! 💧

If you had booked a place through Eventbrite, please keep an eye on your emails for an update.

🦋 Bugs, clay creatures and plenty of smiles by the river!

Last Friday we spent a brilliant day at Brimscombe Mill as part of our Rivers for All project.

Families from Allsorts joined us for a River Wildlife session, getting stuck into bug hunting, creating clay creatures and putting our brand new River Severn scavenger hunt to the test. It was fantastic to see so many people exploring, discovering and enjoying the river together.

A huge thank you to allsortsgloucestershire for joining us and to barnwoodtrust for supporting our Rivers for All project and helping make sessions like this possible. 💙

Have your say in how people access the great outdoors in Shropshire by taking part in the annual Shropshire Great Outdoors Survey 2026.

The survey includes questions about the outdoor facilities and activities you make use of, how you obtain information, any access barriers you may face and how satisfied you are with the services provided. Undertaking the survey each year allows Shropshire Council to understand how things are changing and where future actions should be prioritised.

You can take part here. https://orlo.uk/eqgiU

Tiny hands making a big difference for one of our rarest native species. 💚

Pupils and parents from Leighton Primary School recently joined our Conservation Officer, Charlotte, to create birch twig bundles for white-clawed crayfish. These natural structures provide safe hiding places for young crayfish, helping protect them from predators during their most vulnerable life stage.

Earlier this week, Charlotte and Dewi installed the bundles at a newly established white-clawed crayfish ark site on the upper River Banwy, supporting the colony introduced there last September.

A fantastic example of local people helping to protect and restore our native wildlife. Well done to everyone involved! 👏🌿
