🌸 Help tackle Himalayan balsam in the Upper West Onny Valley!
From 10th July onwards, local volunteers will be heading out across the Upper West Onny Valley near Bishops Castle to remove Himalayan balsam from rivers, streams and wetland areas.
Himalayan balsam is an invasive plant that spreads rapidly, crowds out native species and can leave riverbanks vulnerable to erosion when it dies back each winter.
We’re looking for more volunteers to get involved. No experience is needed and training will be provided by the Upper Onny Invasive Plants Project team.
