๐Ÿ•๏ธ What a fantastic Group Camp! ๐Ÿ•๏ธ

Over the May half-term, more than 30 young people from our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers sections enjoyed an amazing weekend camping at Three Fishes.

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with plenty of sunshine throughout the weekend. Activities included campfire cooking, whittling wooden spoons, backwoods cooking, games, challenges and, of course, a huge water fight on Saturday afternoon to help everyone cool down!

A highlight of the weekend was our traditional campfire on Saturday evening, where parents joined us for an evening of songs, sketches and plenty of laughter. It was wonderful to see so many families there supporting our young people.

We were also delighted to welcome the The Mayor Of March to our campfire. Having started cubs at the age of eight and dedicated nearly 40 years to scouting as a leader and volunteer, it was wonderful to have him join us around the campfire.

A huge thank you goes to all our volunteer leaders who gave up their time to make the camp possible, and to the parents and carers who helped us pack away at the campsite and unload equipment back at the Scout Hall afterwards. Your support is always greatly appreciated.

Weekends like these give young people the opportunity to develop confidence, learn new skills, make friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Today we celebrate the 100th birthday of the incredible Sir David Attenborough ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒฟ

A lifelong champion of nature, curiosity, and adventure, Sir Davidโ€™s early experiences in Scouting helped inspire his love of the natural world and exploration.

He once said:
โ€œI remember my time as a Wolf Cub very well indeed. We learned a lot of useful things and had a great deal of fun.โ€

Thank you, Sir David, for inspiring generations to explore, discover, and protect our planet. ๐Ÿ’š
From everyone at 1st March Scout Group, happy 100th birthday!

What a weekend for scouting! ๐ŸŒŸ
On Saturday, our Scouts headed to Ferry Meadows for an action-packed activity and water day โ€” taking on climbing, kayaking, SUP, and bell-boating. Plenty of adventure, teamwork, and smiles all around!

Today we were joined by other groups from across the District to celebrate St Georgeโ€™s Day at the St George's Fayre - March. We kicked things off with promise renewals before proudly joining the parade through town.

A big thank you to Whittlesey Scouts 1st Doddington Scout Group & Thorney Scout Groups for joining us โ€” it was great to celebrate together! ๐Ÿ™Œ

A big thank you as well to everyone who supported our duck race and to all those who helped out. We had two winners โ€” duck number 252 finally made it to the finish line (with a little help from our canoeists on the water! ๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™‚๏ธ). Congratulations to J Whitwell & M Miller, who each won ยฃ50! ๐ŸŽ‰

What a fantastic evening! A huge thank you from 1st March Scout Group to everyone who came along and supported our Easter Bingo ๐Ÿฐ๐ŸŽ‰

We are so grateful to everyone who donated prizes, cakes, and gave their time to help make the evening such a success. The support from the community & friends of scouting was amazing, and events like this simply wouldnโ€™t happen without your generosity.

We raised around ยฃ600 on the night, with the final total to be confirmed once everything has been counted over the weekend โ€” an incredible result! ๐ŸŽ‰

Every penny raised will help the Group continue providing exciting activities, adventures, and opportunities for our young people, helping them learn new skills, build confidence, and make lasting
memories & friendships

A big thank you as well to all our volunteers and helpers who worked so hard behind the scenes.

We hope everyone enjoyed the evening as much as we did! If you took any photos, please feel free to share them in the comments, and weโ€™d love to hear your feedback too ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Weโ€™re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for our next Bingo at Christmas! ๐ŸŽ„โ›บ
