It was back in January (or perhaps even before!) that I first had the idea of running a Boys’ Brigade cookery fundraiser in aid of Cancer Fund for Children. I spoke to Paula McIntyre to see if she would be interested, and the answer I got was simply, “I would love to.”
Fast forward six months…
The morning after the night before….
And what an absolutely brilliant night it was☀️
Firstly thank you to Tamlaght Church Of Ireland for the use of their hall, it was very much appreciated
A huge thank you to Helen Mark MBE for being our compere. The evening flowed so smoothly, and it was wonderful to have you with us.
It was also lovely to meet Jane Rea. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to join us. Hopefully we'll see you back on BBC1 very soon!
Thank you to Donna for making the gorgeous cupcakes, and to all the girls who helped put them together in the beautiful presentation boxes. They were absolutely delicious!
To Rebecca and Laura from Cancer Fund for Children, thank you so much for being there last night. A special thank you to Rebecca for all her help in the lead-up to the event, from assisting with setting up the hall to helping with so many of the little details that made the evening such a success.
To Lucy... what can I say? I know you had the majority of the hall, if not the entire hall, shedding a tear or two as we listened to your remarkable story. It was an absolute privilege to meet you. Stay strong and we hope you enjoy the gifts from ourselves and Marissa Callaghan.
And what can I say about our amazing chef Paula McIntyre MBE? We first spoke about this event six months ago and the time has absolutely flown by. Thank you so much for coming along to Tamlaght and for giving up your time despite your incredibly busy schedule. The food was outstanding and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the craic and banter throughout the evening.
Finally, thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, donated, attended, helped behind the scenes, or supported the event in any way.
We are so grateful to everyone who helped to make this such a special event in aid of children, young people and families impacted by cancer. The purpose of the Boys Brigade is to help our boys develop confidence and skills, but also to build character and learn about the importance of community outreach. Charitable events like this reinforce just what can be accomplished when people come together.
Our total raised so far is £2,400!
Absolutely incredible.
Thank you 🙏⚓️☀️
