R E I N T R O D U C T I O N

It's been a while, so I thought it was time for a reintroduction.

I'm Ellie, I'm 54 and now post menopausal. That doesn't mean to say that all the symptoms have disappeared though.

I live my partner Mr. M, we met on holiday and are loving life by the sea together.

I love sitting in coffee shops either people watching or reading a good book. I exercise normally 3 times a week - strength training, zumba and barre pilates.

Most of my time is spent working in the day job and organising events for a community of local midlife women.

The community has become so much more than I thought it would be and I am so grateful for those who came along to that first meeting in February last year.

I will post more about it in the coming weeks, but I want to say we have all become good friends and help and support each other.

Thank you for following me, I hope you will stick around and see what's going on.

Join us at Thrive Together on Tuesday 10th March 10am-12pm for our very first Coffee Conversations.

We are being joined by Kate Donohoe from Boom Weight Loss and Fitness. She will be talking about strength training and I think this is such an important conversation for women in midlife.

This isn’t about becoming a bodybuilder.
It’s about bone health, confidence, independence and feeling capable in your own body.

We’ll have coffee from 10am, then she’ll join us at 11 for a relaxed talk and Q&A.

Just 12 spaces so it stays friendly and intimate.

Tomorrow night is Thrive Together… and we’re celebrating our first birthday.

A year ago this was just an idea.
Now it’s real friendships, shopping days, shared stories, and women supporting each other through very real life.

I feel incredibly proud of what we’ve created together.

Today I spent the day out shopping with a few of the women from Thrive Together and it really made me smile.

Over the past year this group has grown into something more than just meetings — it’s become a place where genuine friendships are forming, conversations flow easily and everyone gets to be fully themselves.

At our next meeting we’ll be making plans for the rest of the year — more social events, more shared experiences and more time together.
This is what community can look like.
