What happens when you take a group of corporate employees out of their usual working environment and challenge them to survive in the jungle?

In this video, Veterans In Action (VIA) welcomes a team from Avon Protection and Team Wendy to our woodland centre for our **Escape From The Jungle Corporate Day**.

Avon Protection and Team Wendy supported VIA with a £10,000 donation towards one of our expeditions the previous year. This was our opportunity to welcome their team into our woodland, show them more of what we do and give them a day of challenges, teamwork and adventure.

After their initial briefing, the participants are divided into teams and face a series of practical challenges designed to encourage communication, problem-solving, leadership and working together.

Throughout the day, the teams take on challenges including:

🌳 Navigating obstacles without touching the ground

🆘 Creating an SOS signal visible from the air using a drone

💧 Constructing a water supply system using natural materials

🚑 Evacuating a casualty using an improvised stretcher

🚙 Taking on our Blind Land Rover Driving Challenge, where communication and trust are essential

There's plenty of laughter, a few unexpected problems and an opportunity for everyone to discover what can be achieved when they work together.

*CORPORATE DAYS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE*

At Veterans In Action, our corporate woodland days provide businesses with an alternative to traditional team-building activities.

They also give companies an opportunity to support a charity dedicated to helping veterans through practical activities, outdoor experiences and meaningful engagement.

Checking the track in our woodland to make sure that our rigue beech tree hasn't dumped any more branches onto the track. We have had to make a diversion around the tree for safety. I found this walk hard which you can hear in my breathing as first walk in the woods since my knee replacement.

A wee bimble around our woods today on our Veterans Walk & Talk. How times have changed with me stood between a Lt General and Colonel. In the past that would have meant I was in trouble.

Last Veterans Walk & Talk of the year this Saturday
If you are in Andover or the surrounding area, come and join us for our final Veterans Walk & Talk of the year.
We will be setting off from the Veterans In Action Centre at 0900 for a short walk to our woodland. From there, we will take a walk around the woods, spend some time together and have a bit to eat.
It is a good opportunity to meet the VIA team, see the woodland and get a feel for the work we do with veterans.
There is no pressure and no need to know anyone before you come. Just turn up, join the walk and meet the team.

My first time down the woods after my knee replacement and its great to see how busy the reat of the VIA Team have been in the woodland. Lots of progress made with new tracks and areas cleared.

A huge thank you to BRUCE British Riders United Charity Events and Ride2Raise Collective and their visit to our centre yesterday. A special mention to BRUCE British Riders United Charity Events for thier continued support of VIA and the receipt of £2000 donation. We look forward to working with you more in the future.

Our next Veterans Walk & Talk will be our September Walk.

Join us at the VIA ALIVE Centre, Redenham Park Estate, Andover, starting at 0900.

We will walk through our Veterans In Wilderness woodland, stop halfway round for a breakfast butty at the Cathedral Parachute Shelter, then walk back to the centre together.

There is no pressure and no formal process. Just fresh air, woodland tracks, a bit of food and the chance to spend time with good people.

The walk is free to attend and open to all veterans, families and supporters. Dogs are welcome too.

Come on your own, bring someone with you, or share this with a veteran who might benefit from getting out for a couple of hours.

Continuing with winterising our tracks for the winter. Us old boys shoveled approximately 10 tonnes of chippings today so we are all knackered and Dy put in a roundabout because he could only go in circles with the wheelbarrow.

Preparing our woodland tracks for the winter.
Today we have been spreading chippings on the tracks thatw ere damaged during the wet winter we had to try and prevent it happening again.
Keep up with our progress in the woodland and how we turn a tired overgrown woodland into something that can be used by all those we help.

Wasp Nest
I wee walk around the wood Duncan Crockett said. I'm up for that until he found a hole and decided to kick then he was off shouting back to us. "Run."
Too late, the swarm was on us while but this time at 67, Duncan was 200 metres away.
