Veterans in Action - VIA VIA are a UK based charity that helps Veterans who have suffered the effects of war or who have found the transition to civilian life difficult.

The tracks are ready for our next Veterans Walk & Talk.

Over the last few weeks, our veterans have been preparing the woodland routes, clearing, cutting and now chipping the tracks so they are ready for people to walk together.

On Saturday 06th June, we will be holding our D Day Walk to commemorate D Day 1944 and remember those who stepped forward on that day.

This is a free walk through our Veterans In Wilderness woodland, starting at 0900 from the VIA ALIVE Centre, Redenham Park Estate, Andover, Hampsh

Grab a breakfast butty under the Cathedral Parachute Shelter. before heading abck to the centre.

All veterans, families, serving personnel and supporters are welcome.

Fresh air. Good company. A place built by veterans, for veterans.

The 6th of June means something to every veteran.
It is the date that defines what service costs. What courage looks like. What it means to go when called, regardless of what waits on the other side.
82 years on, we gather again. Not on a beach. Not under fire. But together, in the woodland, on the same Hampshire ground that those men stood on before they crossed the Channel.
On Saturday, 6th June, we are asking veterans, their families and their supporters to come and walk with us in commemoration of D-Day 1944.
This is not a ceremony. There are no speeches and no formalities. It is simply veterans and their people, walking together on a day that matters, through woodland tracks created by veterans, stopping for a brew and breakfast butty at our Cathedral Parachute Shelter.
Sometimes the most important thing you can do is to show up and be part of something special.
Free to attend. No need to register. 9:00am start.

The next Veterans Walk and Talk falls on a significant date.
Saturday, 6th June 2026, marks 82 years since D-Day. Since the largest seaborne invasion in history. Since thousands of young men left the shores of southern England and didn’t come home.
We will be walking in their memory. Let's make this a walk to remember.
The June Veterans Walk and Talk will be our D-Day Commemorative Walk, a moment to pause, to remember, and to walk together through the Veterans In Wilderness woodland in honour of those who served and those who fell on 6th June 1944.
We will set off at 9:00am from the VIA ALIVE Centre, Redenham Park Estate, Andover. The walk finishes back at the Centre after breakfast at the Cathedral Parachute Shelter.
Hampshire was the staging ground for D-Day. These fields, these woods, this ground, men gathered here before they crossed the Channel. Walking here on the 6th of June means something.
Free to attend. All veterans, families and supporters welcome. No need to register. Just turn up.
If you know a veteran, a family member of someone who served, or simply someone who believes we should never forget, share this with them.
We will remember them. 🌿

Today we welcomed the National Lottery Reaching Communities team to the VIA ALIVE Centre.
They came to see first hand the progress we are making with the Reaching Communities grant and to see how that investment is being put to work supporting veterans through the VIA ALIVE programme.
They also got behind the wheel on our purpose built off road driving course.
We think it is fair to say they loved it.
There is something powerful about showing funders not just a report, but the real thing. The land, the tracks, the veterans, the work.
We are incredibly grateful for the support of the National Lottery Reaching Communities fund. Their investment is directly changing lives.

Today we relaunched the Veterans Walk and Talk.
Twenty people walked through the Veterans In Wilderness woodland this morning. Veterans, families, supporters and a few dogs who had no intention of being left behind.
They walked tracks that did not exist nine months ago. Built by veterans, for veterans, as part of the VIA ALIVE programme. This morning those tracks were used for exactly the reason they were built.
The walk finished at the Cathedral Parachute Shelter. Bacon butties, hot drinks, good conversation. No agenda. No pressure. Just people together in the woodland.
To everyone who came out this morning, thank you. You made it exactly what it was meant to be.

The first Veterans Walk and Talk is almost upon us.
This Saturday. 9th May. 9:00am.
The men in this photograph are some of the veterans who spent nine months clearing eighteen acres of woodland, building the tracks you will walk on this weekend. That work was not just groundwork. For many of them, it was part of their recovery.
Some organisations take you for a walk.
Veterans In Action create the track for you to walk on and the veterans we help carried out all the work, as part of the ALIVE programme.
On Saturday morning, you will walk through what they created. Come and meet the team who built it and show them your support.
Free to attend. No registration. All veterans, families and supporters welcome. Just turn up at 9:00am.

The Veterans Walk and Talk returns to the VIA ALIVE Centre on Saturday 9th May and there is still plenty of time to come along.

This is what a Veterans Walk and Talk looks like.

You arrive at the VIA ALIVE Centre at 9:00am. No registration. No paperwork. Just turn up.

From there you head out to the Veterans In Wilderness woodland. Tracks cleared by veterans. Routes built by veterans. Take in the beautiful Hampshire countryside.

Midway through you stop at the Cathedral Parachute Shelter. Bacon or sausage butty, hot drink, good company.

Then you walk back to the centre.

That is it. No pressure. No agenda. Just fresh air, a good walk and people who understand.

Free to attend. Open to all veterans, families and supporters.

The next Walk and Talk is Saturday 9th May. 9:00am start. 🌿
