Our next Veterans Walk & Talk will be our September Walk.

Join us at the VIA ALIVE Centre, Redenham Park Estate, Andover, starting at 0900.

We will walk through our Veterans In Wilderness woodland, stop halfway round for a breakfast butty at the Cathedral Parachute Shelter, then walk back to the centre together.

There is no pressure and no formal process. Just fresh air, woodland tracks, a bit of food and the chance to spend time with good people.

The walk is free to attend and open to all veterans, families and supporters. Dogs are welcome too.

Come on your own, bring someone with you, or share this with a veteran who might benefit from getting out for a couple of hours.

Continuing with winterising our tracks for the winter. Us old boys shoveled approximately 10 tonnes of chippings today so we are all knackered and Dy put in a roundabout because he could only go in circles with the wheelbarrow.

Preparing our woodland tracks for the winter.
Today we have been spreading chippings on the tracks thatw ere damaged during the wet winter we had to try and prevent it happening again.
Keep up with our progress in the woodland and how we turn a tired overgrown woodland into something that can be used by all those we help.

I wee walk around the wood Duncan Crockett said. I'm up for that until he found a hole and decided to kick then he was off shouting back to us. "Run."
Too late, the swarm was on us while but this time at 67, Duncan was 200 metres away.

We’ve been far too quiet on this page. Veterans In Action certainly hasn’t been quiet.

There has been a huge amount happening behind the scenes and I think it is about time we started showing you more of it.

This woodland has become a major part of what we do at Veterans In Action. It isn’t simply somewhere we visit. Veterans have been involved in developing it, working in it and turning it into somewhere that can be used for our projects, activities and corporate days.

And, as this video shows, nature has a habit of giving us a few extra jobs along the way.

Over the coming weeks and months I want to start using this page properly again.

Not simply to tell you when we need money or promote an event, but to actually show you what happens at Veterans In Action.

The veterans.
The projects.
The woodland.
The workshops.
The successes.
The difficult days.
And probably quite a few of the daft moments as well.

VIA has always been about veterans helping veterans and getting people active again through teamwork, projects and shared experiences.

There are a lot of stories behind what happens here and we have probably been guilty of not telling enough of them.

That is going to change.

And if you haven’t seen much from us for a while, hopefully you’re going to start seeing a lot more.

Following on from my last post about don't camp under a Beech tree. The same tree decided to drop more branches and block our track again. Even more than last time. Looks as if we have to bypass this tree unti the poor thing gets a proper drink.
