We’ve been having a lot of fun on the farm over the last few weeks. Harvest time is in full swing and we have been enjoying sharing meals together. We were very lucky to have Sai share his knowledge of South Indian food when he taught us how to make dosas. As well as this, we have been making courgette cakes, beetroot brownies and delicious ratatouille.
With the harvest rolling in, we have set up a little stall on the farm supplying support workers, family members and staff with organic vegetables fresh from the patch.
Everyone at the farm has been working really hard to look after our animals. The dry summer has been challenging so we are very grateful now for the rain!🌧️🐐

Another wonderful week at the farm! We have been doing arts and crafts, making flower crowns from willow and frames from twigs found on the farm.
Today we cooked up some delicious chocolate and beetroot brownies but ate them all before we managed to take a photo!

Our plants have been soaking up all of the sunshine we’ve been having and are growing quickly. We have lots of courgettes on our hands already and will be having many more ready to harvest in the coming weeks. Likewise, our aubergines are bursting into flower and have begun to produce small fruits already. Let us know in the comments below your favourite recipes using courgette and aubergine β˜€οΈ

πŸ’š Thank You for Walking with Vana Trust πŸ’š

Today is the final day of Walk 4 Difference, and we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign. Whether you've walked, donated, shared our posts or encouraged someone else to get involved, you've helped support the work of Vana Trust Organic Farm.

Because of your generosity, we can continue providing opportunities for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health challenges to learn new skills, enjoy meaningful work and be part of a welcoming community.

Together, we're growing more than organic foodβ€”we're growing confidence, friendships, independence and hope. Thank you for believing in the power of community and for helping us make every step count.

If you were unable to join us for a walk, perhaps you could support the campaign by making a donation instead. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue creating opportunities for people to grow in confidence, independence and wellbeing.

🚢 There's Still Time to Make a Difference 🚢
In memory of Peter Fleming, Vana Trust trustee from 2003 to 2025.

Our Walk 4 Difference campaign finishes on 17 July, and there's still time to get involved.

Day 10: feelings of accomplishment

Every donation and every walk helps Vana Trust Organic Farm continue supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health challenges through meaningful activities, practical learning and a welcoming community.
Your support helps people gain confidence by growing organic fruit and vegetables, caring for animals and preparing meals that bring people together through our Lunch Club.

No matter where you walk or how far you go, you'll be helping us continue this important work.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign so far. Together, we're helping people discover their strengths, connect with others and thrive.

πŸ“ A Place Where Everyone Belongs πŸ“

In memory of Peter Fleming, Vana Trust trustee from 2003 to 2025.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute, learn and feel part of a community.

At Vana Trust Organic Farm, we see every day how spending time outdoors, working with nature and sharing meals together can make a real difference to people's lives.

Participants help care for our animals, grow organic produce and prepare meals for our Lunch Club, developing practical skills and lasting friendships along the way.

By joining our Walk 4 Difference fundraiser before 17 July, you'll be helping us continue providing a welcoming, supportive environment where people can flourish.

If you're taking part in the walk, we'd love to see your photos! Share them in the comments and let us know where you're walking.

If you're unable to join us for a walk, perhaps you could support the campaign by making a donation instead. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue creating opportunities for people to grow in confidence, independence and wellbeing.

It's been another hot week at the farm but luckily we had Michelle here to make delicious homemade ice lollies for us all to enjoy after feeding the animals.
We are beginning to be able to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of our labour and are cooking meals using produce from the veg patch grown from seed on site. We've been cooking with beetroot, carrot, potatoes, chives, dill, parsley, and rainbow chard and it's been going down a treat!
We are taking big umbrellas with us to protect us from the strong sun and doing gardening jobs in the shade.
All in all, a wonderful week! β˜€οΈπŸ¦‹πŸ¦πŸ₯•
