Dear all, the next meeting of the Andover & Wi******er Branch is being held on Monday 19 October 2026, in the WOs' & Sgts' Mess, 26 Engr Regt, commencing at 1400 hrs. This meeting will be followed by a quiz.

If you are not on the mailing list and are a REA Member, and not necessary a member of our branch, but wish to attend please email Chris Needham (Military Secretary) direct with the following information. Your name, vehicle registration number, make, model and colour of your vehicle to allow the guardroom to be informed, and car passes will be made available.

Example: Mr J Bloggs, Mr A Spr, VW Golf, black, Vrn: PZ73GVB

It is planned to have an individual quiz as opposed to teams, however, this may change on the night, depending on numbers.

For your information there are 5 rounds of 10 questions. The categories are: Music, Geography, History, Food & Drink & General Knowledge/Pot Luck.

Each individual (or if we go to teams), will be given a "Joker." The Joker can only be played 'ONCE' against the category you think you are best at. Every answer you get correct, doubles your points, so there could be a possible score of 20 as opposed to 10, if you play your Joker. The Joker MUST be played before the round commences by ticking the Joker box on your answer sheet.

There will be a chance to have a few table games as well, (Shuffle board, darts, pool, etc). I believe the RSM is allowing the bar to be opened.

Please make an effort to attend the next meeting, and especially the quiz, as this could be the start of more social get togethers.

Please feel free to pass this message onto any REA members.

I would be grateful if you could give me David Davidson (Chairman), a heads up who is likely to attend, so that I have an idea of numbers attending.

The REA Andover & Wi******er Branch Monthly Meeting will be held on Monday 21st September 2026, in the WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess 26 Engineer Regiment, Swinton Barracks, Perham Down, Hampshire, SP11 9LQ, commencing at 1900 hrs for all members. It is planned to have short meeting, followed by a quiz and games night. If you are a member of this branch and wish to attend, you need to ensure you are on the branch's email distribution list so that the you can respond to the Mil Secretary's invite email.

Was invited to join the Hampshire Armed Forces Breakfast Club at Basingstoke Golf Club on Sat 8 Aug 26. Made to feel more than welcome and had a great breakfast with great company, all for the price of £10. Looking forward to the next one next month. Swapping stories and banter. A great morning spent.

Painting events like these are for Royal Engineers Association members.
Together with our little band of volunteers we helped the Royal Engineers Museum preserve the history of the Corps of Royal Engineers while enjoying a rewarding and memorable experience.

If you think about it, while serving, many of us would moan about painting vehicles, yet now we seem to thoroughly enjoy doing it.
